He committed crimes and was found guilty in a fair trial.

Are folks really outraged by a rapist being held accountable for their actions?

Anyone really followed the case?

My impression is that the only "evidence" against him was that he plied women with recreation drugs to get them in the mood -- drugs the women knew about and took willingly. So it seems like it's the equivalent of convicting someone of rape because they bought someone a drink at a bar and then later on had consensual sex. Is this setting a precedent now that even if a woman knowingly takes drugs / alcohol and consents to sex that she can pretend it was rape after the fact, maybe decades after the fact, merely by asserting that she wouldn't have consented had she not taken the drugs / alcohol?

Note this is different from asserting that the "victim" was too inebriated to consent. The claim is only that the alcohol or drugs lowered inhibitions to the point they might have made a different decision than they would have sober.

But I'm not sure even that weak thread was used as an argument. it might be that the #MeToo environment on top of all the media commentary about Cosby, simply makes it impossible to have a fair trial.

Personally I find it to be tremendous amounts of horseshit.

This was nothing more than a narrative based case, there was no evidence.

Scary thing is the speech at the end by Gloria Allred, and using that hashtag movement. A lot of scary shit going on in the world today, gun control, people being led to believe that words > evidence...
