Lately, I’ve been noticing a troubling trend on social media, particularly with the toxic and manipulative content that’s becoming far too common. I've seen so many reels and comments that just tear people down, especially men, and it’s time we recognize how harmful this is.
For example, I came across a video where a woman is being criticized for being with a guy who was considered "less attractive" by other women's. But why is it okay to judge someone’s partner just because of their appearance? The truth is, they were happy and in a loving relationship, yet people felt the need to tear the man down, calling him unworthy simply based on his looks. This kind of behavior is toxic. Relationships should be built on love, trust, and respect, not based on societal standards of beauty. It's time we stop devaluing people for things beyond their control and appreciate real connections.
Then there are the comments on videos, like one where an elderly man asked a bank assistant if she needed water, and his daughter brought it to her. People were calling out the man for making the women "uncomfortable" with the situation, saying he had no manners. It’s unbelievable how people can turn something as simple as offering water into a criticism. This highlights how negative the online space has become, with everyone quick to judge instead of understanding or appreciating the context.
Another issue I keep seeing is the unrealistic and damaging expectations placed on men, especially when it comes to finances. A woman comments that a guy who earns $25,000 a month isn’t enough to afford her,Bruh the living in New York city cost is of 4 people is $8000and yet you who don't even live in New York. And then there’s the constant pressure for men to meet ridiculous standards in relationships, like how they should be able to cook or serve their partner. Why is it that people forget relationships should be about partnership, not power dynamics? Why aren’t we teaching people that we’re all equal, and we should build together, not tear each other down?
Moreover, I’m frustrated by the way men are treated when they express vulnerability. I see so many men asking if they look good, but they’re met with mocking or discouraging comments instead of support. If a woman proudly says she loves herself despite being "plus-sized," she’s praised, but when a man expresses the same self-love, he’s ridiculed. Why is there such a double standard? Why aren’t we supporting each other? Men deserve respect, encouragement, and pride in themselves, just as much as women do.
And let’s talk about the alarming rise in violent, manipulative behavior that we’re seeing. I saw a video where a girl put a cigar in her boyfriend’s mouth, put a dog collar on him, and had him wear a pink dress and skirt in public. People praised her for this as if it was normal, but where’s the concern for his well-being? If a man acted in a similar controlling, violent way, society would call it abusive. Why do we praise one instance of violence but condemn the other? Violence is never acceptable, no matter who’s involved.
It’s time for men to stop being passive observers and start standing up for their rights, their dignity, and their happiness. We need to fight against these toxic behaviors and reclaim our self-worth. It’s time to challenge the double standards, the manipulative attitudes, and the negativity. It’s time for men to support each other, to encourage self-love, and to demand respect. We deserve it just as much as anyone else. Let’s work together to change the narrative and make social media a better space for everyone—where love, respect, and equality aren’t just ideals, but daily practices.
