"Butthurt"

I've considered whether butthurt is discriminatory before, and reached the conclusion that it isn't. While it raises the implication of rape and such, i've used it to describe both men and women.

I do agree with the rest of your post however, that men are caught in a double-bind where they are considered emotional cripples or emotionally whiny. dependent on how much they emote. I think that butthurt is largely unassociated with rape unless you actually think about what it's implying, and so is probably an ok thing to say, albeit not ideal. I've described myself as butthurt, men, women, animals, fictional characters, etc. I think if we want to do away with the term, we need another that describes being upset and angry over petty bullshit that doesn't matter. Because it's a useful term.

We can't as a movement, simultainiously object to jokes involving rape of men, while simultainiously fighting for rape jokes about women.

Eh, I never linked butthurt that strongly with anal sex. The connection is definitely there, but it also contains connotations of being sore after having one's ass kicked.

Besides, butthurt is gender neutral.

To me, the use of such juvenile terms denote a lack of real intellect. I'm inclined to immediately ignore anyone who utters such a term. It's dismissive, crude, and insensitive. It's also a relatively new term used by younger people.
