Hey all,

There is an op-ed in one of my local papers about how awful and violent men are and I wanted to write a rebuttal and send it in. The author quotes a lot of facts and I know some are wrong and some I would just like fact checked. I know someone much more organized than myself has the facts I need.

Here are the "facts"

"More than 90 percent of these assaults are perpetrated against women by men."

I know there is the CDC report that details "forced to penetrate". Does anyone have a link to a permanent location for that study and what its called? Also, "forced to penetrate" is considered sexual assault and not rape right?

" Some 85 percent of the people who commit murder are men"

I want to fact check this. I would also like to know what percent of victims of men represent.

"90 percent of the people who commit violent physical assault are men"

I don't believe this and am going to fact check it. Again, how many men are victims of physical assault?

"95 percent of serious domestic violence is committed by men"

I don't believe this either and it needs a fact check.

"85 percent of child abuse is committed by men"

This I realllllly don't believe.

"99 percent of the people convicted of rape are men."

This I can believe because when men do report rape, they aren't believed.

I am going to be working on this for a while, any information that can save me time would be appreciated.

Here is the article for those who are curious.
