A person with "hypoagency" is not held to high standards in terms of responsibilities and accountability. Examples: mentally handicapped, children, women.

Agency, in this context, basically means "abilities". Hypo basically means "lower" or "low". So, hypoagency means low abilities.

In the context of men's rights, it is the hypocrisy that is so frustrating. Women demand and get treated as if they have hyperagency when it comes to getting rewards, being listened to, taking control, etc..

But, women demand and, again, get treated as if they have hypoagency when it comes time to take responsibility or be held accountable. It's the completely hypocritical reality of our feminized, misandric culture.

Late to the party but I wanted to add something.

It's interesting that the socially-constructed hypoagency of women is actually a belief feminism and the MRM share. Related beliefs are where they differ.

For one, feminism blames hypoagency on Patriarchy while MRAs blame gender roles and, to a lesser extent, feminism itself for pushing the victim narrative.

For two, feminists only consider power when conceptualizing privilege and never consider responsibility. Since MRAs consider both, MRAs believe that hypoagency carries with it some measure of gain for women because it reduces their responsibility e.g. the gross sentencing disparity between men and women in women's favor.

On the other hand, feminists believe that because women are not taken as seriously as men (women are hypoagents), the corresponding reduction in responsibility does not matter. The reduction in power does so men getting longer sentences is therefore a consequence of male privilege from males having greater agency.

In case it's not obvious, feminists are wrong because reduced responsibility is a privilege. It's actually an increase in power if used correctly. For instance, women can kill men with impunity if they can successfully convince a jury that the man was abusing them. This comes directly from the notion that women are hypoagents aka lack control over their own lives so they can't just... fucking leave abusive relationships like men are expected to do. It's also obviously a privilege in the denotative sense of the word.

Based on prefixes I leaned in abnormal psychology, hypo-agency sounds like a lack of agency, or an unwillingness to act. I'm not sure though.

Hypoagency as I understand it is a deficient ability to affect the world around you. Patriarchy could be defined as practices which systemically cause female hypoagency.
