Prof. Strumia, of Pisa University, did a presentation at CERN on gender differences in physics, showing some evidence indicating that men overperform in physics not because of discrimination against women, but rather because of gender differences in interest and ability.

The data he used includes a statistical analysis of citations in physics and the "gender equality paradox", by which the percentage of women in STEM and physics is anti-correlated with a nations's gender equality index.

He also commented on hiring policies favouring women as one of several forms of gender discrimination against men.
