My thinking goes like this:

Violence and abuse begets violence and abuse. If we ignore a significant source of it, irrespective of the 'men cause more damage when they hit' angle, then we are not tackling all of it.

It is right that we should be tackling the sources of it, and a great deal of success has been had by reducing the acceptability of DV against women. The issue (preaching to the choir here?) is that it's perhaps gone so far that a man accusing a woman is ignored/told to man up while in the reverse situation the woman is automatically assumed to be truthful and prosecution will often proceed even without her consent.

I'm not certain that this is the best subreddit to get a wide range of views on this (/r/equality), but there seem to be enough dissenters here that I'll not be allowed to think this if it's a load of crap.
