BREAKING: GOP congressman: Rate of pregnancies from rape is ‘very low’

K --

Yesterday, Republicans kicked their crusade against women into full gear:

A national ban on abortions after 20 weeks was passed by a House committee filled with Republican men The ban has no exceptions for rape or incest The author of the ban, Trent Franks, claimed that "the incidence of rape resulting in pregnancy are very low."

Apparently, Republicans learned nothing from the Todd Akin “legitimate rape” fiasco. It’s up to us to call out their ridiculous claims as soon as they happen to stop their anti-woman agenda in its tracks.

Automatically add your name to help us reach one million strong against the Republican war on women >>

Instead of passing a single jobs bill, this Republican Congress is back to its old tricks – fighting tooth and nail to drag this country and women’s reproductive rights back to the Stone Age.

We need to be more forceful than ever in telling Republicans that their constant assault on women’s rights will not be tolerated. Can we count on you?
