The term "Mens Rights" irks me because I'm not a victim and never have been. I also think that women are still discriminated against in many ways. I just don't think the response to that fact should be to consciously discriminate against men, which is clearly what has and is happening in western society.

Now we live in a time where both men and women are discriminated against, and men increasingly so, women increasingly less so. Instead of policy makers trying to maintain an insane balance of discrimination to make things "fair", we should just do away with all forms of it.

I probably see myself as someone who just wants pure gender equality, which includes ending the ridiculous "affirmative action" like treatment given to women (among other things such as legal bias). I find myself agreeing with most of what's posted here, but I'm not sure I belong here. I'd like to hear thoughts from people who classify themselves as Men's Rights activists.

For the record I still think feminism has an important role to play in the non-Western world.
