There’s the pay gap as measured by the BLS which compares what men in average earn to what women in average earn, and does not compare equal work. I think men will out earn women for sometime to come due to hypergamy, men being seen as providers, women’s desire to stay home, women being more risk averse, etc.

Note that just out of college, women actually out earn men, clearly showing that employers are happy to pay women as much or more. The pay gap really kicks in as women start having children, want to work less, and have a husband to help support them.

Where I’ve worked they often pay entry level women more for affirmative action / DEI reasons, though I suspect men overall work more since the men have notably more work experience overall.

Paying women more for equal work and men earning more overall (pay gap) are not contradictory.

Bring it up to your companies management. Fuck it, report them for paying you differently due to gender.

I was training a lady at my job, we were talking about cost of living etc. she thought I got paid more because I had been there a long time and was training her. I played into it and asked if they gave her a path for a Sr. Title that’s when she told me how much she was hired on at, it was $13k more than what I was being paid as a Sr. and a trainer. My next review came they asked me why I hadn’t put in any goals and I told them I didn’t plan on being there that long. They freaked out and basically asked me to give them a $ to have me stay. She had already quit lol. There’s definitely something going on they hired no men for my dept. and all the women they hired were close to my pay even though they were brand new and had no experience.

In the U.K. they is what they refer to as a ‘negative pay gap’ for part-time work in that part-time women in work in average earn more then men.

This might well be a factor of some women in higher paying jobs going part-time while caring for children though.

Also possibly things like there being more better paid part-time jobs in professions that are dominated by women.

it would work to sue them, they will have to disclose the records by the court's request.

"NDA" about salary size won't cut it in court.

but before suing, you have to be reasonably sure. also, you guys might make it a CLASS ACTION.

I dare say you are not the only male underpaid in comparison to her.

Yes it’s real, until 30s when lifestyle choices come into play (reduced hours, etc), women out earn men when things like education and experience are held equal.

Actually women in the IT are getting significantly more then men, also there’s tendency I noticed, all higher management are women, some of them really do their job, but it’s a small number, I don’t understand how they are getting promoted, because they are incompetent and don’t have required skill set. And guess who in the end will do the job? Yeah you know who

Lowest payed jobs are 99 procent done by men.Women ignore this fact. And also, most women are not qualified for the positions they get. Usually work less than men at the same positions, so naturally they get payed less. Especially now when the world became a feminist dystopia, there is no other explaination for why there is still a pay gap.

There will definitely be overcompensation going on in some organisations regarding pay.

Also, think of it this way... If you get passed up for a role because the company needs to tick one of their DEI boxes (which includes women, despite them being a majority of the population, not a minority) and so they hire a woman instead, you might go months or even years before you find a similar/same role and get successfully hired for it. If that role included a pay rise, that could be years you go earning less than you could/should have all because the company needed to tick a box. And those years have a knock on effect on your future prospects as well, so you'll never reach parity with a (potentially) less qualified/capable person who is promoted ahead of you for simply ticking a box.
