False accusations are about out as "rare" as sunlight in California (which even the most superficial search on Google, YouTube or Reddit can confirm) and should be treated with the same level of seriousness and punitive action as any other deliberate wrongdoing designed to harm someone.

Punishing false accusers does NOT prevent future victims from coming forward--in fact, it would prevent (or at least, hopefully deter) people from MAKING the false accusations to begin with, as there would be actual consequences enforced, instead of the well-known scot-free pass that is the unfortunate standard today. There is already no punishment for lying to the court about these matters, so if true victims come forward in a timely manner when there is still evidence to be collected, they have a greater chance of getting justice than if they wait in silence for years (or even decades) before even making a report. "Innocent until proven guilty" exists for a reason.

Lastly, the harm of being falsely accused is NO LESS egregious than actually being sexually assaulted, as both instances cause severe lifelong damage and trauma to those inflicted by them and even if those who are falsely accused are lucky enough to avoid prison (where they, THEMSELVES, can even be sexual assaulted and/or worse for a crime they didn't commit), their image, reputation and general sense of security can still be permanently destroyed, along with any prospects of a career, relationship, access to their own children and countless other life opportunities and advantages they deserve. At least those who are sexually assaulted have therapy, support groups and other resources available for healing/recovery, while those who are accused (whether guilty or not) are just deemed perverted scum not even worth looking at.

In my experience women never ever ask for consent, just initiate and coerce a bit if you are not in the mood.

And personally I agree that in established relationship it is stupid to expect to seek consent all the time, of course you also respect when you see they are not in the mood. It will is not like we don't know how to read body language, and sometimes simply ask if they want to have sex too.

In short, yes, constant seeking of course sent is a turn off.
