While I agree with you, I have to wonder how easy it truely is for a adult to take advantage of a teen. Parents and teachers can rarely control rebellious teens. I mean, there just seems to be so many contradictions with all this. Whether it is laws allowing 14 yr olds and sometimes younger to be seen as adults and get abortions, while it is illegal for them to consent to sex...WTF?? Or holding teens to adult legal standards in murder and other types of trials. Or in my state, a 13 yr old is legally allowed to drive various types of farming equiptment, without being a emancipated minor, that are much more dangerous than a typical car. I don't know, just seems odd how we hold teens to adult standards in some areas and in other areas we claim they are too immature to be held to adult standards.

From an evolutionary psychology perspective, you would expect sexual maturity to have a hell of a lot to do with emotional and mental maturity.

Because an adult can take advantage of children very easily

Evolutionary psychology would also predict that adult women with power would seek to limit sexual competition from younger females. Taking advantage of teenage girls with no political power in this way comes very easy to feminists.

How about, as men's rights supporters (which I assume you aren't anyway), we favour sane laws that protect young girls and boys from being taken advantage of by older partners without criminilizing ALL such relationships? It's pretty easy - lower the age of consent but introduce a law criminilizing the actual (and clear) taking advantage of a teenager's immaturity.

Then why have we suddenly felt the need to protect young females from sex more now that feminists are in charge? Since when have feminists cared about 'future generations'?

Are you really claiming that feminists (i.e. middle-aged women with power) can somehow step outside of the shackles of their selfish gene psychology and have no motivation in limiting younger sexual competition to themselves (while at the same time be unconciously aware that the survival of the genes of the group are furthered by protecting young girls more than boys - and passing legislation to that effect)?

Why has there been a sudden ramping up of the legislation 'protecting' teenage girls from abuse since feminists started gaining real power at governmental level - particularly in the last decade or so? You're claiming that feminists care more about the success of future generations than men did when they had the power???? Isn't a simple EP explanation that it is in feminists selfish gene reproductive interests to limit sexual competition from younger girls by raising the age of consent and creating paedohysteria memes?

I appreciate you may be committing the naturalistic fallacy, but actually, from a rational perspective, forcing teenage girls out of the reproductive market until they are past peak attractiveness and fertility is causing a lot of problems for 'future generations'.
