This is better than this forum gives credit to. In a way, the masculinity he's talking about is still incredibly valuable to men. It might not be praised, but it doesn't need it. One can persevere with this mindset regardless of what society wants from him - he just has to detach from an ambivalent society.

I kind of want to give this guy a handshake, a clap on the back and tell him he's still doing good. Maybe sit down and talk about how he can utilize what he has for his benefit.

Here we focus so much on what society demands from us, but we don't need it. It would be nice if we'd talk more about what we can do for each other.
