Looking at recent changes in the functioning of the ABS, there has been a strong move to politicisation of the authority comtemporaneous with changes in senior management. This has been most evident in the recent move to collect and publish Australian Gender Indicators, a data set predicated by feminist based ideological framing of women's disadvantage in the Australian community. Completely abscent from the Gender Indicators, is any framing of the disadvantage experienced by men (it is feminist based).

The bias in the data collection, reporting and publishing of ABS stats is evident when data is examined for inconsistencies and ommissions.

The ABS surveys a sample of Australian house holds to identify trends in disability and carers (Survey of Disability, Aging and Carers; SDAC 2018). The regular old chestnut is rolled out that women (12.3% of women) are more likely to be carers compared to men (9.3% of men). But this is not consistent with the same surveys findings on those needing assistance.

Overall, older women were more likely to need help with at least one activity (44.3%) compared with men (30.8%). Across all activities, older women reported a greater need for assistance than older men, especially with tasks such as: mobility (17.8% of older women compared with 12.2% of older men), property maintenance (23.9% of older women compared with 15.6% of older men), household chores (21.1% of older women compared with 10.3% of older men). In fact, the gendered bias hides a more nuanced carer landscape where women are more likely to be carers during their adult childcare age bands (15-60 years), but but this changes as men are more likely to be carers compared to women into old age (> 60 years).

Also not reported in the ABS methodology is the sex of responders. The reported methodology acknowledges that only one person from each household is needed to respond to the survey. As with other household survey (HILDA) women are the dominant responders, and collected data often reveals a gendered filtering of self-reported task completion by sex, consistent with the sex of the responder.

So the ABS is no longer the impartial provider of independent unbiased Australian demographic statistics, but has joined the UN, WHO school of gendered femspeak, reporting statistics filtered by misandry and gyncentric nationalism.

There is no "gender pay gap". There is an earnings gap, due to men working more than 2 weeks longer per year than women, and due to the fact that men do most of the highly complex, stressful, physically demanding, dangerous and dirty jobs that pay more than air-conditioned, short work week, flexible hours office jobs that women prefer. The earnings gap is entirely due to choices women make.
