Go to HR now. Write down what happened and sign it, give a copy to HR and keep one for yourself.

Don't mean to scare you but right now she is gathering allies around her, what actually happened will be getting slowly exaggerated and before you know it she will be in HR telling them how you pulled a knife on her.

Contact the EEOC, right this minute. Find out from them if you can bring a hidden recorder to work. Whistleblower protections in a hostile work environment often negate any 1 or 2 party consent laws.

You should have RAN to HR the MINUTE she touched you, but even better would have been the first time she slandered you. This is called a hostile work environment and you are being victimized. The employer can get fined by the labor board. File a report with them.

Ask the witnesses for a recorded statement via phone or voice recorder and take it down to HR and if they back track you have physical evidence.

Definitely report it. This will likely get to HR anyways in which case it'll affect your eligibility for your promotion anyways. Also not doing anything may lead to you receiving disciplinary action. I also have a hard time understanding what work environment allows for shoving in which your bosses haven't had a stern talking to you already.

Well, if this is the case, you have to be the one to approach/report first. If those witnesses would be willing to say what they witnessed/did on your behalf or at least a signed letter as well, you should be fine.

The people who just automatically side with her, you're likely not going to be able to change their minds. But taking the initiative is what you have to do.

As the altercation was physical ,you will automatically be blamed and branded the aggressor. Unless the witnesses have committed their story to paper, notes , they will turn on you in an instant -especially if they are females. The female co worker is going around slandering you already and making stuff up she is probably setting the scene for a formal complaint to HR about you. Management will hear about it , if they haven't already. You should have made a formal complaint against here at the start as soon as she spoke against you, anyway what now?? Going to HR is a risk, they will support the woman -especially if the HR manager is female. Not reporting will mean when she does or management hear of it , you will look secretive and hiding what happened. From reading the posts and comments of other men in similar situations I think , attack is the best form of defence- report her, make an official complaint about her, name witnesses etc , go nuclear right away, Easy to say I know but the days of things blowing over seem gone , is there someone at work or in another workplace you could talk to confidentially for advice ? Also check your HR policies on the issues and complaint process. If you can take it outside the business do that too.
