I was in a mosaics class yesterday(a class offered by my school, under intellectual heritage). Anyways a woman was presenting yesterday, and said that there aren't enough female ceo s in the world. I tried explaining that a shortage of female CEOs does not equate discrimination since one would also have to look at applications for the position to compare how many men vs women actually applied. However her argument was that it was a predominantly male field and it was harder for women to get in, she then went on to say that there should be an equal amount of CEOs that are female vs men. Me and my brother were talking about this, and we both think that gender has virtually nothing to do with how good you are at managing a company. But the second issue i have is that why do some women out there believe that it's only fair if there's equal amount of men vs women in every field instead of what i believe should instead be equal opportunity to get a job? Why is it that it's always discrimination to blame for everything that women could possibly suffer, even trivial stuff(my mosaics teacher was explaining that women make 70 cents on the dollar, and that women have been oppressed for 100s of years. I tried rebutting as many arguments as i could, but am now the most hated person in the class", but it still pisses me off that everyone just blindly assumes women are always right about any issue ever.
