I’ve been on this group for many months now. I’ve found it a great place for men to have much needed discussions about men’s rights issues, with full freedom (and a lack of “mysoggyknee” accusations).

However, yesterday I was made to feel so very unwelcome to this sub. Which is the first time this has happened.

One user told me (paraphrasing here) that because I’m a gay man, I don’t face discrimination by feminists/society etc. and was really downplaying my issues with misandry and anti-male bias. Simply because I like men.

When I called out his homophobia, he told me I’m sensitive and that’s “typical” of gay men; and that I have a “low threshold” for hate. Then proceeded to compare me to feminists. Which is absurd

This really cut deep, I can’t lie. I thought this group accepted me for who I am. I thought this group understands the pain I feel living as a male in the current state of the west. I did not expect to have my experiences undermined, here of all places, because of my sexuality.

I don’t attend pride events because of all the insane misandry and nonsense that goes on there. I didn’t expect to face this here. SMH.

Hopefully this doesn’t happen again, because I really feel connected and less alone with my experiences as a man on this group. But thought this had to be addressed.

Take care, guys
