How does this sub generally feel about the documentary The Red Pill?

I view the red pill as one of the more important moments in the modern MRM in that it took our legitimate arguments and brought them into a more mainstream audience without the need for provocative antics to draw eyes. It showed us at our most reasonable and brought more chairs to the table. I don't think its a coincidence that we've seen more domestic shelters for men since the film.

I supported it, only gave a tiny amount but it turned out to be a very good introduction into what the MRM movement is really like. However if you want something more in depth you need to do a lot more research to really understand the various groups and what MRAs actually believe.

Overall, I think it's great. Yes, it's pretty basic for someone like me and others who have been in the movement for several years. But that makes it perfect for moderates who don't know much about the movement and are just learning. I've recommended it to a lot of non-MRA's for that reason

A lot of people know nothing about men's rights; scoff at the idea of it; buy into the typical "men are privileged, women are oppressed"; think that MRA's are misogynists afraid of losing privilege; etc.. This is a great film to dispel those myths and get people interested in the movement, or at least get them to acknowledge that men face discrimination and it is a serious matter

Fantastic film. Cassie Jaye was on "Sunrise" and as expected, they tried to paint it as a woman bashing documentary.

Landmark moment that put us on the board.

Not only raised awareness, but demonstrated the mindset of the feminist as well as dispelling the dogmatic assumption that this is a battle of men against women, rather than a movement that both parallels and emulated the original women's movement for employment opportunity by exposing the world to who we really are.

The MRM is made up of men and women combating an ideology of hatred toward men, while raising awareness as to the "privilege" that men do not have.

this Ted Talk by her was also very powerful in demonstrating the feminist mindset and how awareness comes about.

Another eye opening video would be the adventures of Nora Vincent, who posed as a man so as to demonstrate male privilege...and had her eyes opened wide...yet another feminist convert that now supports men's issues.

I call it innovative in that it was the first documentary to bring Men's Issues to the mainstream conscious, even if it served as a mere introduction. Also give credit where credit is due: Cassie Jaye endured a lot of backlash and character assassination and she still stood firmly behind her film.
