How would you guys change the educational system?

Suzanne Hoff-Sommers wrote a great book “The War Against Boys” outlining many of the purposeful discriminatory changes made in education that have caused boys/men to fall behind. She focused largely on the Women’s Educational Equity Act, but there have been other discriminatory actions since she wrote her book.

In short, I advocate we undo the discrimination against males that has caused males to fall behind. For most of history, males weren’t behind in education. They only fell behind when we started discriminating against them.

Some more specific points:

Schools made a conscious effort to have predominantly female teachers. We should undo this and work towards a better balance. It’s been shown teachers tend to discriminate in favor of their sex, female teachers especially so.
Boys and girls learn differently. For example boys tend to be more experimental and need more activity in the day, whereas girls are more linguistic. We made a conscious move towards the latter which should be undone. Schools should return to more experiential learning, smaller classes, break up the day with activity and not punish students (boys especially ) for fidgeting. Heck, I can’t sit attentively for hours in end, it’s ridiculous we expect boys to.
As Reeves often points out, boys and girls are ready for different learning at different ages and education has (purposely) focused on teaching materials at a time when girls best learn. Reeves suggest we hold boys back to compensate. I disagree. I think schools should compromise the best they can rather than focus on girls.
Some schools offer no boys allowed college prep programming. I believe this discriminatory opportunity is a title ix violation and should be entirely banned. Again, we should end discrimination against males.
There are many women only scholarships, but few men only scholarships. This is biased and is fortunately one thing we are seeing addressed, though there’s still a bias that needs to be eliminated.
Studies show colleges favor women over men in STEM hiring. This bias should stop. Similarly I’m aware if colleges that are clearing men of influential positions and replacing them with feminist women. This is especially problematic as most title ix officers, diversity and inclusion officers, etc. are women, often agenda driven feminist women.
Colleges adjudicate claims of sexual harassment and sexual assault in ways that deny accused men due process. This needs to stop. I advocate criminal accusations be handled by police, not colleges, but if colleges are to handle such cases, due process procedures should apply.
Colleges have many pro-female, anti-male programs for which there is no equivalent the other way. Women’s studies programs and “sexual assault trainings” being some examples. Like the previous point, I think these biased programs should be eliminated, but if they continue, they should be balanced.

I could go on, but I’ll leave it there for now. I think we addressed just those things, we would greatly reduce the discrimination against males in education and would see a strong return towards males doing as well as females.

Again, it’s all about removing the discrimination.

It’s obvious. We need more men in education and teaching. There’s only one way to fix this. Quotas.

Men should be 50% in primary school, high schools and universities/colleges.

Men are already raised by single mums and mums who dominate and control their husbands.

Until we fix this massive imbalance of female dominance for kids 0-20s.

Our education and teaching system is broken. 74.3% of all teachers are women. Elementary is 89%, Middle 72%, High is 60%. Also universities it’s 57.5%. So from 0-20s a male and female child are taught by a dominant female lens. Also, single mothers and mothers who control and bully their husbands.

Introduce hands on activities like wood shop for all students
Introduce contact sports in gyms and have health classes about nutrition and exercise (up here in Canada pretty much any sport that can MAYBE hurt you has been banned from being played in schools [including fucking dodgeball 😐])
Drop the gender ideology stuff and revert back to normal sex Ed
Teach about taxes and how the financial system works
Made home Ed (cooking, cleaning, house work) mandatory (I was lucky enough to have this as an optional class when I was a teen)
No feminist shit in schools keep all discourse gender neutral and teach about plights of both genders ie: women’s week, men’s week.
Unless you are disabled or have a physical condition gym/fitness class is mandatory
Serve fresh organic food in cafeterias especially varying meat and fish dishes school subsidies half the cost and the students pay for the rest with a re-loadable lunch cards.

Make it about facts not feelings, no gender ideology, no progressive ideology, just the facts and skills (I'd include classes on budgeting, cooking, nutrition etc).

Abolish teacher's unions, purge wokeness and any Marxian theories out of pedagogy (such as those of Paolo Freire), restructure all schooling along Montessori lines, and voucherize all public funding of education.

keen effort to get and retain more male teachers (on all levels, outreach, teacher's education in uni, hiring, pay, social issues among teachers)
switch back from the 'whole word' method of teaching reading to the 'phonetic' method. I could go into details, but that would get long
move STEM education from being 'listen, read, comprehend' to a more 'hands on' activity. Also more generally give students the opportunity and obligation to research things actively.
more written standardized tests which are not graded by the teacher who teaches the given class to counteract gender grading bias.
more recess/breaks with opportunity for physical activity
shop class (see the 'hands on' part 3.)
PE clubs that get students moving in activities they enjoy

Studies have clearly shown that teachers are biased.

Tests should be graded by another teacher and it should be labeled by a code that makes it impossible to grade based on sex, races or any other characteristic not important to grading the test.

This is something which would not only help boys, but people in the education system in general.

That is the heavy emphasis on age = what year you're in.

I was always precocious. I was moved up 2 years/grades at the age of 6. I went years without education but got into a college anway to do my GCSEs 3 years early (top marks for maths on the entrance exam).

However, my mental health fell into a rut, something terrible happened to my family, and I've been in and out of hospital since then.

Now I find I cannot do A-Levels, etc. Just because I am a year late. No college or secondary school will take me because I missed a year, despite me only getting As and above.

Get rid of the "at X age you have to have X qualification" twaddle.
