in 2019, there was an advertisement from the razor company called Gilette that was supposedly addressing "toxic masculinity." It received a lot of hate and eventually the loss of 8 billion dollars as it insulted its target audience.

When a lot of men expressed their thoughts on this ads they were made fun of by women because the women believed that this was a genuinely good advertisement and that the reason the men were "crying" over this is because they had fragile egos.

When the men addressed how the advert portrayed men with negative male stereotypes, the most common response was "well, maybe stop raping and killing women" or "if you don't fit into those stereotypes you have no reason to get upset."

That's just an example of when men express how they don't like being portrayed as predators or murderers (with the association that them being a male has anything to do with those traits), you have people telling them to suck it up and "stop crying" or telling them to stop raping and killing if they don't want to be portrayed negatively.

If a man says he doesn't like his masculinity or his manhood being demonized, it's not because he has a fragile ego. You can see several videos online talking down on men, and they always justify it by grouping the average man with criminals.
