You can't be a humanist if you don't even view an entire group of people (men) as humans. These people genuinely believe they own the concept of morality.

P.D: "people need to stop believing in conspiracies" believes in the patriarchy

Irony doesn't even begin to describe them

They are well known for their "you're with me or against me" mentality. It is stupid to claim a movement is all about equality and then call it "feminism". No, you don't achieve equality by viewing everything through the lenses of one gender and then claim that you understand the issues of the other.

A humanist cares about things that are effective both genders.

Feminists only care about things that negatively effect women.

Feminists always use the line... "We don't want to take anything away from men" which isn't true, men have lost equal rights when it comes to child custody, men get less government funding for health than women. There are no government funded programs to get men into female dominated industries, nor is there funding for male victims of domestic violence. There is more funding for female DV services than suicide prevention, which mostly effects men. Women's services get more funding than homeless services which is 75% men. Women receive sentences 65% lighter than men for the exact same crime. Look at the Ukraine, men are forced to fight, women get to leave. (You don't see feminists arguing for equality there). Women have the choice to not be a parent but men don't get the same right, women have more birth control options than men.

Feminists as a collective don't care about men's issues, humanists do.

The radical feminist of the 80s started to make up most of the things they say negatively effected women, and it usually boiled down to men.

Christina Hoff Somers calls out Gloria Steinam on questionable statistics back in the 90s, though i think the statistics were misread in the 80s,

"Here are some examples of the kind of provocative data the public is fed. According to the gender feminists, anorexia nervosa is caused by the androcentric system that forces women to starve themselves in order to please men. In Revolution From Within, Gloria Steinem informs readers that “in this country alone, 150,000 females die of anorexia each year.” This figure made it into books like Naomi Wolf’s The Beauty Myth and Myra and David Sadkers’ Failing at Fairness. It appears in college textbooks and even in Ann Landers’ column (with its millions of readers). The appalling figure of 150,000 deaths supports the gender feminist’s view that women are embattled–and that men are to blame.

It would be a neat confirmation of their world view if it were true. In fact, the statistic is wildly false. What is the correct death rate for anorexia? The Centers for Disease Control put the number at around 100 per year; other objective authorities put it somewhere between 100 and 300. (As a postscript, I should say that I called Naomi Wolf’s attention to the statistical error. She informed me that she intended to expunge the 150,000 figure from her book, and in a recent reprinting, she has done so.)" -Who Stole Feminism

Steinman is far from the only one to fear monger since, and she wasn't the only one then.

The intersectional feminist groups, shielding these radicals, actively suppressed support for boy's education is the late 90s and 2000s.

I'd go as far to argue that such feminism very much harms women as well.

I'd like Stunning_Notice to actually show what these supposed gender inequalities are.

I don't think this person knows what "negging" means.

Or the difference between "your" and "you're."

Ah yes, the old "If you believe in equality then you're a feminist because feminism is about equality, and if you're not a feminist then you must just hate women"...

[–]chupasway 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism CLAIMS to support equality and it has made equality happen in some situations (voting, equal pay, etc..) but that is not what current modern feminists are about. They still ignore workplace death gap, and they still claim "patriarchy" runs the world even though the majority of people sleeping on the streets are men.
