So why does feminism get a free pass but the MRA does not?

I'm anti-feminist because of the very real harm feminism and feminists have done to men..
That doesn't make me anti-woman at all. But feminists lack nuance when it comes to anything that isn't women or issues that women face.

Also, finally I would point out that this space exists to allow men to vent their frustrations with the system precisely because they literally can't post elsewhere because "Men aren't ALLOWED to have issues because we need to focus on the issues that women have"

How do I want to make the world better?
Well firstly I'd like to make circumcision for ANYONE illegal without medical reason AND explicit consent from the individual.. Which is more 'equal' than feminists because all they care about is Female Genital Mutilation and how much "WORSE" it is than male circumcision.

Secondly I agree that women should have the right to abortion, however men should also have equal protections against becoming a parent against their will, Once again this is more 'equal' than what feminists claim to fight for.

Thirdly I would remove the biased and disgusting Duluth Model of domestic violence which paints ALL men as aggressors in situations of domestic violence and replace it with a model which more accurately represents domestic violence as a whole. But feminists once again do not like this idea because that would mean giving up a privilege / something that women benefit from and they absolutely can't have that even if it would make things more equal.

Fourth I would overhaul the criminal justice system. Gender would no longer have ANY factor when it comes to being guilty of a crime, nor would it have any factor when it comes to sentencing for crimes.

Crimes would instead have baseline sentences depending on their severity and these sentences would apply equally to men and women.
For example, murder, if the baseline sentence for someone being convicted of murder is 20 years in jail then ANYONE convicted of murder will have a baseline sentence of 20 years.
Instead of how it is now where men would be looking at 20 years while women would instead on average be looking at 12 years.

Once again however, FEMINISTS are anti-equality here because they see it as oppression of women to hold them equally accountable as we do men.

TL;DR: Yes, there is misogyny within the MRA I won't deny it or even defend it.. but your post comes across as grandstanding and trying to imply that there isn't also rampant misandry within the feminist movement and thus the feminist movement is superior, which it absolutely is not.

I have never seen a man on here post about hating women and be supported. I have, however, seen dozens of posts on TwoXChromosomes where women say they hate men, all men, and they're supported. There's a recent front page thread where a largely upvoted comment is telling a woman her hatred for men is okay and that we are oppressors.

If you're concerned about sexism, you should go post in that forum. Nobody here is misogynistic, if they are, the mods shut that shit down. HOWEVER in TwoXChromosomes, you can say whatever you want about men and it's encouraged.

There's a large group of women that are actively hateful against us, and we're supposed to sit here and take it, and if we fight back it's "misogyny?" Okay.

I’m not really understanding how you managed to get your second point out of what was said. The previous poster, from my understanding, is looking at equal rights. The same rights for men and women, taking gender out of the equation. Obviously, men are incapable of carrying a baby, so it’s a bit unfair shoving that in his face as if it’s something men have control over. They don’t. There are many men out there who would LOVE to be a father, and giving women the default as sole caregiver is fair to neither the father nor the mother. There are many cases where the mother was given sole parental rights and the mother didn’t WANT the child, whereas the father did. I’ve heard of too many cases where those children ended up being neglected or killed despite the father being willing and capable of being the sole caregiver.

In many cases involving one partner wanting a child and the other not wanting that child, the parent insisting on the child can conceivably be asked to take over the costs of pregnancy, delivery and raising of the child, while the other parents could be able to sign away their rights and responsibilities as a parent. No bias toward either gender.

As for #3? I am so very grateful that your area appears to have places for male victims of domestic violence to go. There are very few where I am, and NONE that will take in a man with his children who are escaping a violent woman. There are several places that support female victims of domestic violence, with no proof necessary to get that support. The men’s shelters need proof of the DV situation and proof that they are the victims. Even with this proof they still don’t take in men with children.

I’ve taken in one family in this situation before, rather than leaving four children and their distraught father on the streets after their mother attempted to stab their father (in front of the children, with the oldest child needing to intervene to save their father) The mother was given a three bedroom house to stay in, despite evidence showing that she was the aggressor and that she could not go near the children.

A year later, with the courts having given full custody to the father (almost unheard of here), she was still in a three bedroom subsidised house. On her own. In an area where hundreds of families are homeless due to a severe housing shortage. There is no equality here for victims of domestic violence. It would be fantastic if there was. I do not suggest less places for female victims. I suggest actually making places available for male victims, and definitely making places available for male victims with their children.

Being against feminism doesn't mean you're against women or equal rights in general.

Feminism has long proven itself incapable of recognizing the other side of equality: Men and their issues.

Instead, all the way back to Senecca Falls, the animosity towards men as a whole has been a feature of the movement. Not some bug or anomaly. Otherwise, it would've been opposed from the outset.

Since it wasn't...well, don't blame men for refusing to touch the movement with a ten-foot pole.
