Yep. And if you've been abused as a child, and suffer for want of an attachment figure, women will pretty much spit on you and literally leave you in agony when you seek them out as attachment figures, because your suffering renders you "weak" in their eyes irrespective of your personal strength. By contrast, men happily become such attachment figures to women who had been abused in childhood, even if these women would have treated them like dirt if the roles were reversed.

I have no problem with hypergamy per se, but I have a /huge/ fucking problem with its existence being shrouded for the first twenty odd years of my life.
