You made the right move. Unfriend and move on. I’ve had enough of that type of shit on social media, as well. Unfortunately, we’re also bombarded by this lazy sexism in other forms of media, too. I'm ready to pull the plug on cable television because of it. I can't watch a single program without seeing a commercial that portrays men (especially husbands and fathers) as lunkheads.

it's a curious thing - how women just double down like that.. I have female friends who are in their late 20's, and early 30's, and very single and alone.

instead of working to make themselves more likable and marketable in the sexual marketplace, they just attack men..

there's probably a name for this, but im not sure what it is.

Believe it or not, usually this sort of behaviour depending on who it is, is usually in reaction to them getting their arses kicked at some point in their lives and it's happening a lot more recently because people are standing up for themselves. Doesn't matter whether it's physically if they decided to behave violently out on a protest or whatever or they may have just gotten extremely pissed off at somebody debunking them and decided to screech about it on their facebook pages.

It's definitely not just you, so as an example, when this sub gets brigaded the typical spam is usually "hurr durr incels are on this sub" or "hurr durr you're such misogynists" even though they're blatantly full of shit and they're just feminists who have convinced themselves that any criticism of feminism is an attack on women.

Same shit here, if your friends started spamming that crap, someone probably pissed them off, either by not going along with their bullshit and telling them to fuck off or explaining just how fucking wrong they were on various topics. It's going to get worse before it gets better and you can expect them to organise more and lash out in the media as well but the more we hit back the more they'll be reduced to a shrivelled up mess because the reality is that feminists can't fight back against people who stick up for themselves and the more there are the more desperate they'll get.

This is what initially led me down the researching feminism rabbit-hole many years ago; seeing a steady stream of "men suck" themed articles and posts from people that I knew and wondering where all of that hostility was coming from.

I've made it a habit never to visit Social Media Sites like Facebook for extensive periods, nor post often even though I have an account on one of them.

It's become so toxic, the only winning move in that game is not to play.

I noticed a big uptick in anti-male posts on FB just a few months before metoo broke. It was almost like the chatter preceding a terrorist attack.

I used to participate in FB a lot more, though it has always felt like adolescent indulgence to me. It was either Conan or Letterman who called it “MySpace with a paint job.”

I just read one that a friend reposted from a group called Relationship Rules, presumably an echo chamber for bitter woman approaching middle age, wondering where all the "good men" are:

"A strong man can handle a strong woman. A weak man will say she has an attitude."

The problem I have with those kind of statements is they once again throw it all at the feet of the man, don't they? Now... FIFTY PERCENT of it should fall at the feet of the man, they're half the relationship, so it's true TO A POINT.

However, never forget there's a difference between a knuckle-dragging mouth breather who "can't handle" you, and a man who has decided you're not worth the drama and grief.

I would've taken a screenshot and reported those posts. Then maybe create a "Women are stupid" post of my own. And post it to see their reactions. You can't win if you don't defend yourself and fight back.

Here are two articles that might be useful as a comeback.

(using archive, since automoderator removed the post when using direct links, original URL can be found at the top of the archive pages)

Just casually share those article with a calm comment, such as "may be interesting for some of you", but without @mentioning the girls who posted this stuff or referring to their memes. The latter gives you plausible deniability if they pack heat on you, just come back with: "Oh, haha, hadn't seen your posts at all. LOL, what a coincidence!". If they persist, report them.

Might be enough to make them think. Remember: Girls fear nothing more than being ostracized, use that for good.

It's a joke. Let's not become modern feminists and get sensitive about comedy. I would agree the average man is dumb. You don't see women doing stupid shit like ballkicking competitions. Same reason why if I shared about "women being confusing" I would get laughs from my nonfeminist friends because it's true

How are we any better than them if we can't take a simple joke about how man and women are different? It's not like your friends shared a feminist post about "men are rapists"
