It is exceptionally filled with strawmen representation of the Men's Right Movement, making the entire attack against MRM into an attack on a fictional object created by the author himself.

Nobody has said that in any MRM groups that I have ever seen.

There exists a well-organized group of men (and I hesitate to call them that when “boys” would be closer to the truth) so deluded that they have actually convinced themselves that men in our society have been given the short end of the stick in the grand scheme of things.

Apparently if you are not the most oppressed group, you got no right to complain; If someone is treated more unfairly than you in other areas, you cannot complain. Using the same logic, white women shouldn't be allowed to complain about wage gap issues, as according to themselves and their stastistics (which I highly doubt are accurate in most cases), black women make even less than white women.

Another strawman, I do not fear women or dislike them, and I care about several legitimate feminist issues, I don't think either gender should be discriminated against in any way, shape or form.

Another strawman, which comes from a feminist projecting, as many femnists use "The patriarchy" as the main villian, it seems the author has deluded himself to conclude MRM must have a similar female villian, while almost all MRA's I talked with freely acknowledge that its not women who are generally supressing us and when hatred does go towards female groups (feminists usually) it is due to their denial and attacks when we speak out to a cultural issue that hurts men.

Can it be any more of a strawman representation of the MRM and MRAs? I highly doubt it is possible. Where is those MRAs he has supposedly researched and looked at to come to this conclusion?

I cannot be bothered reading any more, because before he even comes to the bit about Elliot Rodger, he has clearly demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge about what MRM is, and comes across as willfully ignorant or willing to lie to promote his end-goal, so he is a waste of time, to be honest

Elliot Rodgers, was a radical male feminist. He advocated the mass murder of all men other than him, that would make him an enemy of the MRM.

They won't stop trying to make Elliot Rodger a MRA but that is completely lies and as far from true as you can get.

Elliot wanted to kill ALL men and all women who REJECTED him. That is pretty much everyone. He is not much of an 'evil MRA' if he wants to kill ALL men.

Of the 6 people he actually killed 3 were men and 3 were women and lets remember he started by killing men first. If his killing spree was JUST about misogyny then he really messed that one up.

3 people he killed with a knife, 2 with a gun, and 1 with a car. He did injure a couple more people with a gun though, but that still makes this event difficult to be ALL about gun control.

The people who try make him into a MRA for their scapegoating are pathetic people who insult his victims with their lies and political scheming.

Also I think you were a bit nice calling this an "opinion piece" since it is just some random asshat's blog. At least real opinion piece writers have editors.

The problem in replying to articles like this, is that the people who write them are either ignorant, stupid, dishonest, or a combination of all three with an added splash of emotional manipulation thrown in for additional flavouring. No one who is aware of the facts of this case can seriously claim that Rodgers represented any group, so to do that means the writer doesn't care about facts, and is just using a tragedy as a weapon against people he doesn't agree with.

If you want to reply for the sake of sharpening your own debating skills, then fine, but you won't get honest reasoned debate with these people.

Just because a couple MRA facts are inaccurate doesnt make feminist's facts any more true than a spoiled avocado determining the ripeness of a banana.

Feminism is a hate movement because facts. One thing that such people tend to do is shoot back ay critics with accusation that they've heard others shoot at them. In part this is because hate mongers poorly understand the concept of liberal morality, but do understand that they have to have the appearance of morality. So you often end up with a lot of "arguments" from such people that fall apart on inspection, contradict themselves or otherwise simply make no sense.

I wrote a web site on the hypothesis that feminism is a hate movement, and it didn't look anything like that essay of course. That essay has no definition of what political hate is, provides no means to decide "is movement X a hate movement?" doesn't discuss classic recognised hate movements to pull out the common threads etc. Nor does it present relevent evidence of hate behaviour within the MRA.

None of this sort of activity is present in the article. It's just nonsense. What the article does come across as is a sort of emotional attack against men in general, while trying to avoid looking bigoted, which such an attack would entail.

So for example the author rubbished the idea of men having issues, but then says (in self contradiction) that they do. It spends several paragraphs blackening the name of the MRA and all men by associating them with Elliot Rodger, and then takes it all back saying oh but thats's wrong so I'm not doing that. They accuse all men of being sexual fields, rapists, jharassers and only wanting sex, then they say oh well of course that's not what i think - but then criticises people who point out "Not All Men" are like that too - but then reverses on that and says "I’m not saying that everyone who goes straight for the “not all men” response is automatically a misogynist" ; a quadruple self-contradiction.
