“That for men, sex is actually very rarely just about having an orgasm.”

I wish more women understood this. I keep hearing that male privilege is us orgasming easier and that's proof that men's pleasure is taken more seriously than women's. But men care about more than just the orgasm, and everything else about foreplay/sex is usually about the women while they assume as long as we get off we're satisfied.

Honestly I find in someways I get more pleasure out of her orgasm then mine.

This is how it is for myself and my wife... still trying to get her to understand that i dint have to orgasm everytime. Just like she has told me the same... as long as we are together

Jesus, that's well-said. That's what I was trying to articulate during some tough times in past but couldn't. It gives words to how I feel now that I am getting that affection I need. Thank you for posting this.

This was a good article. I remember being single for a few years and through that time had zero human contact. I felt so isolated and alone. Meeting a woman for a date and at the end I'd get a hug and feel emotion and well being just flow over me. Sometimes just getting a hug from someone close is the most amazing feeling.

[–]omegaphallic 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes it is.

[–]BlackBoxInquiry 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That article said perfectly what I've known and understood my entire life...and never have been able to articulate it.

Thank you.

Then after a moment one of the younger woman spoke up to say “Oh my God he’s right. That’s so… so… horrible” and she began to cry. Afterwards I was astonished by the number of women who came over to thank me for opening their eyes

Also if you are the kind of guy who tends to put a lot of effort into being caring / considerate / tactful / empathetic, etc., it can be one of the few occasions you get to really express your dominant side. Actually, a friend of mine once watched me sawing a piece of wood, and said to me, "dude, you've really got to get laid, soon!" lol

Excellent article!

This article, aside from being a wonderful explanation of the male experience, also shows that the vast majority of women who may oppose mens' issues probably do so out of ignorance or misunderstanding, rather than malice.

I remember that with my past gf when we were long distance (she was doing a foreign exchange deal in Japan), when she came back I couldn't keep my hands off of her and wanted sex all the time. She misunderstood this as me simply being horny and only valuing her for sex, and although that wasn't true, I couldn't articulate why I was so voracious. I realize now that it was because I hadn't had ANY human contact in the time she was gone since I was away from my family and had few friends. It was my first time feeling that closeness and intimacy in so long that I just needed as much as I could get before it was back to the emptiness.

This is part of why being MGTOW is so hard. I can deal with no sex. I can find alternatives for emotional intimacy. But the unfettered touch is really unreplaceable, and I miss it so much.

I get why he wrote the article, but

“Why do you think guys love playing basketball or football? It’s one of the very few situations where it’s OK for us to touch each other and show affection."

has nothing to do with sports for me.

“Now I know that’s probably very hard for you to understand because you’re women. You get to feel that every day with your friends, mom, sisters, or kids. But for us it’s so rare that every single time it’s significant. It’s one of the very very VERY few times that we get to feel really, truly… loved.”

This sounds like absolute bullshit to me but then again perhaps I'm not one of those men that feel the need to emotionally detach myself from any human beings out there other than a girl.

You get to feel that every day with your friends, mom, sisters, or kids.

I hate to break it to the author, but if you're a single man and you don't experience any of this or even just generally being able to have a good time with your friends, then you definitely need to see a psychiatrist and I'm not messing around either. I suppose that's the point of the guy saying this, that single men who are completely alone are often completely broken individuals but I don't think this has anything to do with sex.

If it does have something to do with sex and that's really the only time in a man's life they can be emotionally engaged with somebody then like I said they need help. It does make me wonder though just how many problems men really have with their emotions if this is actually a common thing and it goes a lot deeper than feminists' bullshit of "Men aren't allowed to cry" I think though this is exactly why we need to combat feminists because they're going to be causing huge amounts of problems if they're making it impossible for men generally to even talk to other people on their own openly.

I'm not emotionally detached from the people around me. However, I don't actively feel loved by any of them except my family. I feel cared for, but not loved.

[–]Lethn -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Then that's a problem to do with them not you.

[–]bufedad 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Or it's a problem with male relationships as a whole.

[–]Lethn -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't think so, I think that would indicate there's just something going on with the individual and it looks like a bunch of posters have decided to take me saying that the wrong way.

Another aspect of it is generally just don't hang out with shitty people who take you for granted.

[–]bufedad 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And the male suicide problem could be resolved by men not hanging around shitty people.

[–]OnTheSlope 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

then he'd be the only man with that problem, wouldn't he?

[–]MattLyte 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is beyond clear that you have absolutely no understanding of the social constructs surrounding the stigma that this article is talking about. You may have grown up isolated from the social structures that perpetuate this, but that makes you ignorant, not correct.

What is the point of this article?

[–]MattLyte 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What the fuck sort of a moronic question is that?
