frankly, no one's going to believe that there are legitimate society-wide men's issues out there, if all they find when they come here is links to individual crazed blogs/fb statuses by individual misandrist people.

I get tired of all the "women behaving badly" posts too, especially the really petty/repetitive ones. But what you have to understand is that society-wide misandry isn't a thing you can hold up for examination, like a bridge or a giraffe; you can only piece it together from individual manifestations.

The fact that you need that explained to you makes me wonder why anyone should value your opinion on the subject.

For god's sake stop trying to prove that feminism is evil and misandrist, because it just isn't.

If you disagree with something they're saying, get out there (e.g. go to /r/feminism, or the comment page of a blog) and present a motherfucking counter-argument to something

If you go to /r/feminism with the actual stats on domestic violence, they will gather around denying them, and parrot the standard feminist, illegitimate criticism of the studies.

The general population of /r/feminism or any feminist area does hate men and sees women as ineffective, if they didn't they would be able to accept what the studies (with the exception of the few studies that have been deliberately biased by feminist researchers) are saying, wouldn't they?

Are they "evil"? No, they are mislead.

This seems to be your thesis and I'd like to approach it. The rate of something is irrelevant to a person that doesn't believe that something exists. If I told you the population density of unicorns, for example, your response may rightly be "bullshit." That's the value of individual examples and why we should see them here to some extent. First a person has to believe men can be discriminated against because they're men and different examples may be necessary to convince different folks.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, there's not enough support and the overwhelming hate from some feminists isn't helping either. And that people who aren't even involved believe that non/anti- feminists are against equality (because of feminism) doesn't particularly give you a lot of space to work with. Men are still powerless to do anything and it takes time to grow and establish a unity. Also, if feminists say a more diverse group can up with better solutions as a whole. Then there should be no need to disregard us as a whole. In end women might come along as well, because few people make poor decisions compared to larger groups, then we'll establish some work. But for now, gaining support is a higher priority than futile attempts to fight a legal system that favours an overwhelming force.

Also men can't cry it's not how it's supposed to be right? Furthermore, women and studying them is taboo so it's hard to show you any evidence of how this and that women are. But you know, what you're not allowed to criticise is what has power over you.

I somewhat agree with your points, but I don't think these issues are isolated to MR or even the grouping of various political/rights minded subs.

In some ways, I suspect that this is a strength/limitation of how Reddit operates by design. In many ways, I agree that the repetitive posts of individual experiences seem to detract from an overall message. However, I also see the point that the trend of many helps to make the case for a larger argument.

I've seen discussions in other threads about ways that Reddit could address this idea, such as placing meta-tags (or hash-tags) on posts so that they might address multiple topics and be seen in aggregates or something similar.

I too, would like to come into this sub and automatically ignore posts that seem to imply /FeministFail or /WomenBehavingBadly or a handful of other common themes. Ideally, enough posts should prompt the creation of a new subreddit which then pulls this traffic out of MR (or similar) and lets the sub focus on its mission. However, there are times when a 4chan style thread also makes sense, and people post their fb status post of the day on a wall with others so you can easily see several (or none) at a time with a shared theme.

It sounds like a headache to manage, but I suspect that it could be Reddit's next big evolution. It will be interesting to see..
