I am currently going through a divorce after 27 years of marriage. My soon to be ex has gone to great lengths to make things expensive and difficult. The most recent outrage occurred after I lost my job. My unemployment is approximately $2,000 a month. Out of that I am ordered by the court to pay $473 dollars a month for her health insurance. She had my check attached and gets 50% of my benefit. This leaves me a little over $500 a month to pay my $1,100 a month rent, eat, buy gas, etc. The court has mandated that I go bankrupt while maintaining her lifestyle at our pre-separation level.

She has prevented me from seeing my children, violated every court order requiring her to comply and is rewarded at my expense. She never worked outside of the house and her lack of skills is the basis for this ruling. Said differently, she has no obligation to support herself because she never supported herself.
