Long time lurker, decided to post something about some things I've noticed recently. Today is my birthday, I decided to go on a vacation/trip with my fiance, for the most part it was great fun. It had been a while since I've gone on a vacation.

While I was vacationing, I noticed so many "micro aggressions", I don't like that term but I don't really know how to refer to what I experienced.

One such was when I was hiking at a national park, I saw a fox and wanted to take a photo and admire it. Two women approached fairly loudly and were trying to talk to it, the fox got spooked and darted off, no photo or moment to enjoy the creatures presence. One of them apologized, I shrugged it off, and was asking them about their day, trip, etc. I thought it was a decent interaction. I told them I gotta head out and wished them the best, as I was walking away I overhear one of them saying "leave it to a man to scare animals away" followed by shrill laughter. This pissed me off but I tried to remain focused on enjoying the day, it was beautiful out.

The next few were the following day, went to see a concert. I was walking back to the car, I forgot my ear protection. I ended up in an elevator with two 20 something year olds, and right when I step into the elevator, one of them flinches at my presence in the most dramatic way possible, I was stunned. The entire elevator ride both of them wouldn't make eye contact with me or even look in my general direction, just awkward and fucking weird.

The last few interactions were women my fiance and I were talking to, I tried to explain to her that as a man there are subtle ways a woman can show she doesn't like your presence and want to talk to you, or is just uncomfortable with you being there. She was confused by it because she's never experienced that before so it's foreign to her naturally.

I'm a pretty attractive man, not a 10 by any means but I dress very well, have good social awareness and tact, confident but not overbearing, I'm a pretty decent guy and always treat others well. Even with all of that, this is my experience. This kind of thing isn't the first time it's happened, I guess something in me has snapped. I want nothing to do with people, I don't want to put in the effort of treating others with kindness when I'm treated like trash. I hate that men have to go through this shit just by existing.

Alright, long winded rant over with. If this isn't allowed mods, feel free to delete it. If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

I'm just tired man.
