Hello, my ex wife moved to the other side of the country with my two children, without my consent. I have no way to see them at all anymore as I am disabled and make very little money. We had discussed a few ideas and I thought we had made an agreement that would be satisfactory to us both in exchange for my written consent. But she just up and moved without my knowledge before any agreement could be written down and made legal. She still insists I pay child support as does maintenance enforcement. I can't understand this though...she is denying me access by doing this yet I still have to pay? Is that right? What can I do about this? Is what she has done illegal? I should mention I live in Canada. I'm not sure if U.S. law would be similar in this situation but I am open to any advice, ideas and guidance offered. Thanks for your time everyone.

Edit: Thanks for all the replies everyone. I'm going to go see a Family Law Lawyer this week. The original court order states joint custody with her as primary caregiver, so I don't know if that means I'm out of luck but I'll find out at least. I hate to go down this road as I am not a confrontational person but she has left me no choice. I want to be able to see my kids. I'll also look into whether or not it is a police matter. Thanks again everyone.
