Hey guys,

I had a quick question. I once had a class in which we talked about rape. Now I tried explaining that the actual amount of rapes was much lower than what they thought. However they rebutted by saying "there's many more rapes that go unreported, so the number is actually much hgier than that". They were going with 1 in 4 rape. So i told t hem that would mean that the country has a statistic as bad as a third world country like the Sudan, and it just wasn't true that it was that high. They rebutted with "society is very dangerous, so its not suprising the nubmer is so high". I was wondering how these people can get it in their heads that these statistics are inherently flawed, and dont represent reality
