Cannot up vote this enough. I recently entered into a discussion about the Daniel tosh thing. That discussion was the first time I had ever heard the term "rape culture". Needless to say I did some research and came to the same conclusion; the name is like a giant straw man fallacy.

I was also referred to as a rape apologist ( another baffling new term for me, since I know I never condoned rape in any way). How did I earn this title, you ask? By suggesting they read the club manager's statement about the incident in addition to the girl's blog post so that they could be more objective about what actually happened.

"Industrialist" brings to mind the idea of mass production and mass rape. I'd rather use "rape profiteering" for feminists who promote the idea that there is a "rape culture" that needs to be fought (with government grants and new institutions manned with Gender Studies graduates, of course...).

It's really a hoax designed to perpetuate the existence of that useless quakery which is feminist theory and its proponents, all under the shield of an imagined female victimhood.

It's really like fomenting a war, and then selling weapons to the combatants.

Because for some reason people think that seeing rape in the media will lead to more rapist like how murderers spawn from playing video games.

Good idea. A similar but related concept is Domestic Violence industrialist -- one who supports the idea that DV is unidirectional, that men are the perpetrators and women the victims. One who profits from DV or part of the DV industry.

I don't know if Rape Industrialist has the right ring to it. It's confusing in who it is pointed at. The rape fear industry is HUGE though. It's almost enough to make one throw his hands in the air and give up. The whole idea of "rape culture" is just a ridiculous, non-plausible theory that has absolutely no science backing it up.

I always like the idea of using rape culture to make rape yogurt, from whoever initially posted the idea r/menrights.

"Rape Culture" is a scare tactic, promoted by feminists and college "womyn's studies" courses, to advance their anti-male agenda.

Ridiculously bogus statistics are employed: "1 in 4...." & "every 6 minutes...." But the PRECISE endings of those claims are kept fluid, just in case, god forbid, any statistician is politically incorrect enough to dare to swat them down. Is it "1 in 4 college women?" or "...freshmen college women?" "...Before Thanksgiving break?" Is it "Every 6 minutes somewhere in the world?" or "In the US?" "...on campus?"

HONEST statisticians do their level best to explain that there is no need for alarm, that spending a year on your local community college campus can't possibly be more dangerous to America's Daughters as spending a year in downtown Saginaw (the most violent city in America--where 1 woman out of 1000 got raped.) In terms of whole numbers...let me get my calculator...that's, oh yeah, ZERO percent.

DISHONEST statisticians--that is to say, FEMINIST ones, know that the REAL stats won't provoke the alarm they need. So at the risk of proving the old "girl's can't do math" stereotype, they work very hard to inflate the rape stats. They START with the alarming statistic they need, (1 in 4; every 6 minutes...), and then work BACKWARD to arrive at that figure. Factoring in the "unreported" rapes is a brilliant tactic, since they can multiply the reported rapes by whatever factor they want, and it can't be disproved.

But having more UNreported rapes than reported rapes tends to provoke skepticism. Sure, the blond co-eds are easy to fool. But some of the brunettes might start asking around, and realize that neither themselves, nor their 3 BFF's have been raped. And some of the redheads might think to themselves, "It's been a LOT longer than 6 minutes since anyone's blown their Rape Whistle around here..."

So the next move in the feminist playbook is to expand the very definition of rape!
There must be SOME women out there who have been raped, but didn't even realize it, because they were using the OLD definition of rape: The kind involving actual forced sexual intercourse.

New Surveys were designed, and handed out. "Have you ever had sex when you didn't want to?" "Has a man ever 'undressed you with his eyes'?" "Have you ever been offered a promotion at work, in exchange for sexual favors?" "Has a man ever pressured you into having sex?" "Have you ever had sex with a man, and then found out he'd lied to you about something?"

Turns out women--especially blonds--were being raped all over the place! And worse, hardly any of these dreadful rapists were being punished! Well, nobody--feminist or not--likes the idea of rapists getting away with raping our womenfolk! Even men were convinced something had to be done!

Politicians pledged to be "tough on rape!" New laws were passed.

Collaborating evidence was no longer needed. A woman's word alone became enough to convict a man of rape. "Why would she lie" was the rallying cry.
"Rape Shield Laws" were passed. After all, can't have the character of a rape accuser called into question, when her say-so alone might be the ONLY evidence.
Statutes of Limitations were extended.
Sentences, upon conviction, go longer and longer and longer.
It became customary for news outlets to name ONLY the suspect, and NOT the accuser.
"Rape Hotlines" and "Rape shelters" and "rape outreach programs"--all publicly funded, began popping up all over.
The "Sex Offender Registry" was born.
"Spousal Rape" laws mean that even a woman's own husband was fair game for rape accusations.
"Sex Criminals" became relegated to the lowest rung of hell in the prison hierarchy.
In spite of the fact that more and more innocent men were getting caught up in the rush to punish more guilty men, "showing of remorse" became a determining factor at both sentencing and parole hearings. (Creating a unique perversion of justice whereby the innocent are required to spend more time in prison than the guilty.)
From "victim compensation" to INSTANT victory in child custody cases, to hugs from Oprah, women are given more and more reasons to fabricate rape accusations.
In spite of the enormous increase in women making FRA's (False Rape Accusations), news outlets continue to refer to False Accusers as "the victim", even after it is revealed that they lied about their victimhood. Public comments overwhelmingly recommend "help"--rather than punishment--for these "troubled women" who are almost never referred to as CRIMINALS, and almost never sentenced to incarceration for their hate crimes against men. 11--and most recently--the standard of proof for college campus disciplinary action in sex crime cases (and ONLY in sex crime cases) was officially moved from "beyond a reasonable doubt" to "a preponderance of the evidence". WHICH MEANS, a college boy can be found guilty in a he-said/she-said case if there is a 50.000001% chance that he did it.

Is there a Rape Culture? Of course not.
a REAL Rape Culture would require the same thing that a real rape TRIAL should require: A lot more proof of rape.

The culture that you see when you think you see a rape culture is actually a cleverly disguised ANTI-MALE culture, perpetrated by the Feminist Agenda.

And it's actually more than just a culture. It's an outright, flat-out, WAR against MEN.

I prefer to use "victim culture" as a counterpoint to "rape culture", but yeah your suggestion works too.

Over at COTWA, we refer to all of these people as members of the "Sexual Grievance Industry".
