I recently listened to a very popular podcast and was flabbergasted that the men's rights subreddit was likened to the kkk. In it someone made the argument that men who feel at the fringes have a need to blame others. That we blame women, minorities, or anyone not whet and male.

Never for a second have I felt at odds with a single race or gender or sexual preference while being on this sub.

That being said I firmly believe a manifesto or mission statement is in order.

I feel that this subreddit has become a lightning rod, for both the people we don't want and the people we are trying to talk to. Trolls, people who write us off, and those who think this isn't a real problem take this sub at face value and leave.

Therefore I ask for a few things.

  1. A clear concise goal. Things like wage inequality and false rape charges may be huge in the news, but things like male suicide rates, mandatory government enlistment, homelessness, unequal sentencing, and denial of visitation rights for divorced dads are real and important

  2. An incredibly firm ban hammer. Honestly I think the mods are on top of this already. Perhaps we can be more open in the conversation on other subreddits and on reddit as a whole about the fact that someone calling someone a slur of any kind is not tolerated.

  3. A clear goal. Doge coin got a sponsor in nascar. Atheism had doctors without borders. We need to legitimize our efforts.

I have no idea if this will help but when someone calls you out as being a nest of future clan members you have 2 choices. Stand up and make a difference , or prove them right with anger and rhetoric.
