It depends entirely on the society, if you were to ask me whether women were oppressed or not in the west, then I'd say absolutely not. At least, not to the extent they are in places like Saudi Arabia for example, which by the way, is something that feminists refuse to go into and Sweden's entire cabinet quite recently which is mostly made up of women actually went to Iran wearing the hijab.

For supposedly feminist women I find that absolutely pathetic, they're more than happy to lecture and attack the west but the moment they have to do anything which might even slightly risk offending someone or put themselves at physical risk they back out immediately. Le Pen is not really a feminist at all yet when she went to meet Muslim leaders who tried to make her wear the hijab she said no and refused, which is far more than what these idiots have done for women's rights.

Sorry bit of a rant there, but that's always one that annoys me, when it comes to issues like abortion I would actually agree in some areas it is an issue. For instance, while I can totally agree with the idea of debating whether anybody should pay taxes for something they don't like, I don't agree with the idea of making abortion entirely illegal that is an area that feminism could make ground on but they can't even do that right because they're such utter morons.

Again though, if you're talking about any sort of 'real' systematic oppression that feminists claim they face daily? No, the short version is the majority of the time they just make it up. If they do happen to stumble on some genuinely misogynistic republican for example or a dodgy case, it's often by chance, more often than not they're lynching completely innocent people and often it's always some straight white male who had the misfortune of openly disagreeing, dating, accidentally coming into physical contact with or even I kid you not glancing at one of these deranged feminists wrongly.

They're a joke, they don't represent women's rights in the slightest and operate almost like a cult that makes it's money off professional activism, deranged blog posts and professorships and they're extremely organised and actually quite good at what they do, thankfully they're rather stupid though.

I have visited and lived-in societies where I would say that women are not treated particularly well. The western societies, on the other hand, treat their women better than most. If one wishes to determine if white women in the industrialized democracies are oppressed, it would be substantiated by metrics like life-expectancy, education levels, the harshness of prison-sentencing and so on.

By those metrics, black people are oppressed in US society while white women are perhaps the least oppressed people who have ever walked upon the surface of the earth. The notion of white women being oppressed collapses into complete absurdity when you look at it that way. White women would be the only oppressed group in human history to have a greater life-expectancy than its oppressors. You can't even laugh at the idea because it's beyond nonsensical.

People who argue to the contrary instead focus on largely phony notions like the wage gap and a failure for there to be equal outcomes at the top of corporate pyramids, as if every man is a CEO. Or anecdotes about, say, feeling uncomfortable after being invited to coffee in elevators by unattractive/low-income men, which is proof of "Raep Kulchur In Which No Woman Is Safe" or what the hell ever.

This will be an unpopular opinion at your college; the women's groups on your campus are a very powerful interest group who need to be continuously mollified and appeased by your school's administration. (Consider the apparent incongruity of letting the Raep Kulchur warriors run free with their hooey and activism while not wishing to involve any actual police in sexual disputes-- as if the administrators are perfectly aware that there isn't really a raep problem on campus, neither do they wish to do anything effective and unpopular such as restricting women's ability to booze it up and party hearty while living in mixed-sex dorms, thus allowing the supposed raep-fests to continue unabated. In this calculus, male students are more tidily thrown under the bus as a cost of operating.) So repeat it at your own risk.

I think a simple way to put it is that women are not oppressed in almost every modern, first world culture. In places like the U.S. or most of Europe, you can compare the rights of men and women, and in almost every case women will come out with more rights than the men. Legal protections, benefits, biases, fundamental values being preserved for women while they are violated for men. In places like the middle east it would seem that there is some form of systemic discrimination and even oppression in the way women are treated and restricted.

I believe that this is very situation-specific. There are certainly some cases where women are oppressed. There are also cases where men are oppressed. However, if you are asking whether society systematically oppresses women on a large scale, the answer is no. There are zero legal rights that men have but women don't, and there are many programs specifically designed to help women, but few for men.
