A. I don't know for sure, but I doubt it's that easy to switch.

B. Such things will not be acknowledged everywhere, particularly if you travel abroad.

C. Although presenting yourself as female on paper may have certain advantages (for business loans, research grants, etc.), showing up at an interview as a trans person may not be as advantageous, particularly if it is not deeply rooted. Showing up as a male with female ID would raise questions about your intentions, sincerity, and mental stability.

D. Ifs may be interesting to explore, but foundations are important. It is worthwhile to have or make a strong one. Erasing things from our past without mining them for understanding likely means losing the gems we could have found. I hope you make a wise choice.

Had I stayed in my previous job position, I would have changed my pronouns (indicated in email footer from male to gender neutral). This way, if I ever got stuck in a bad situation for being a white male, I could point to my gender neutral pronouns and claim I was in fact being discriminated against by the person in question, and I’d be a protected class rather than a discriminated against class. (White men in top positions are actively being let go and replaced with minority women).

I absolutely hate the discriminatory nature of identity politics, but given they exist, I think men should absolutely take advantage of it when they can to help combat the discrimination.

Fight fire with fire. I love hearing that some men address discrimination against men by identifying as women.

You may want to check to see if in your state that's all it takes. Only HR needs to know. If they blad, their in trouble. You can be a masculine presenting Trans. You won't need makeup or jewelry. No one needs to know until you need to play that card. That's how you win in clown world.

It's a stupid idea. Non passing trans women get treated like men or even worse. No one will treat you like a woman simply because you have an F on your ID

No one really cares how you identify, just as long as you sign up correctly for Selective Service as a male. If other American sons have to go so do you. Best Wishes
