This form of stereotyping is doubly concerning since child trafficking is chiefly done by women in 30% of origin countries (It varies by culture), and this kind of campaign might blind people to perpetrators in their midst.

Stats on levels of perpetration overall elude me, but if 3/10 countries have chiefly women traffickers and you absolutely insist on doing an essentialist and stereotypical campaign, then it should have something like a bunch of flags with a woman or a man where appropriate.

Note that those 3/10 countries might, or might not, do a disproportionate amount of trafficking. (The methods differ. Men typically pose as romantic interests or friends to individuals. The women usually have access to large amounts of children. If we take a cold and market based approach to it like the perpetrators do, it's possible there's less women traffickers because each individual male trafficker can only supply so much to meet demand.)

It is not merely a matter of ignoring a substantial minority of KNOWN perpetrators (Known is important, given the bias involved at every level of the justice system and in this issue in particular) to shill for a misandrist narrative, in some contexts, they are the majority. Note that this doesn't become more justified if your country is majority male traffickers, as the countries of origin are what i'm talking about, I.E, inbound to your country.

Stats on how many children trafficked were done by men or women might be more relevant than "How many traffickers of each gender are there." in terms of curbing the practice. But that gets in the way of what people really care about, hating men, so it won't be done.

As a dad I can say it often occurred to me, if challenged, how could I prove the kid was mine?

I mean, if you happened to have some defiant, behavioral type kid, and they just ran away and started screaming because they didn't want to go home, and you chased them and caught them and dragged them to the car, it never happened to me but I have absolutely seen men drag screaming children off to cars.

I have a short story. I have this pair of pants with Velcro back pockets, occasionally a sock will get stuck to it but I usually notice. One day, a pair of my sons underwear stuck to it, and I didn’t notice. We (me and my 2 boys) went to Walmart for something, and I noticed all the weird looks but didn’t much care. We’re checking out and police surrounded us. They questioned us individually, asked my kids who I was, and my kids said I was their dad. They didn’t believe them, until I remembered I had my custody papers in my car, and my sons backpack with his school ID. Police apologized and laughed at the situation, and let my boys see the police cars. Moral of the story, single fathers should carry custody papers and get their kids state IDs if school doesn’t provide them.

That poster has the feel of a meme without any real data or science behind it. I'm skeptical that this is actually how human traffic happens.
