God help the students who are actually there to study, learn and are not offended by triggering words. Some just don't let those words affect them. Social Justice Warriors do.

Education is a learning experience that prepares students to deal with challenges in the future outside of campus. If you let one thing make you feel uncomfortable, it's your fault and you have to deal with it.

Ironically the opposite advice is given by therapists and psychologists to patients suffering from PTSD or who are working on dealing with trauma. The idea is to not create a reaction to harmless events. Feeding into it as this university has done has the opposite effect and feeds into negative behaviours. Surely there are enough professionals at this institution that know this as there is little to no evidence to the contrary. They are literally bowing to pressure from students in a way that does far more harm than good.

This is low on facts.

I don't know about universities in other countries, but it the UK you can skip all your lectures if you so wish. As long as you pass the exam it's fine. This seems to be conflating trigger warnings and giving people the option to leave the room with not having to take the exam.

I am a 65 year old Englishman and anytime I come across an article pertaining to the University system in this country I tend to find myself shaking my head. This however is far more worrying than anything I've read yet. To think that future professionals who will be involved with our laws are able to skip lectures due to their fragile minds not being able to handle distressing information makes me fear this country is doomed in the future regardless of what happens with Brexit.
