Just stay out of AITA. That whole sub is a toxic sludgefest. I've enjoyed my time browsing reddit a lot more since I left that sub, and several others with similar problems. Cutting toxic people out of your life will help you stay happier, and that includes toxic internet communities as well.

That sub is just a cesspit. Amazingly enough, i doubt that they'd be saying the same if it was a female taking issue with dating a male stripper or their bf wishing to take a job as one. It is not unreasonable in a monogamous relationship to expect monogamy. It is not unreasonable to have expectations on how you will accept your partner behaving and to end a relationship if that behaviour makes you unhappy. Guya need to stop believing this horse shit that the media feeds them which equates to being walked over.... Women don't respect you for it and, more importantly, you'll wind up losing your own self respect! No matter how fucking special, pretty etc etc she thinks she is, every other person out there is female, you'll get another if you want one and eventually you'll find one with values that match your own.

My boyfriend and I have been discussing what would be our backup plans considering how bad things are going financially for us and I stated I would become a stripper because of all the research I've done for it. He strongly disagrees which I can see why but he demands I don't do it and he will pay for everything and he will own me because he "doesn't want others looking at what's HIS." Now he is arguing with me saying he will NOT be dating a stripper. Then he says he is worried about my image and goes about degrading me and other strippers and their jobs. He gets really made at me for wanting to be "one of those people" and he says he will leave me if I become one but I only said I would as a last resort when we need it most for food and other essentials.

So AITA for wanting to have a backup plan my bf doesn't approve of?

Side note: I would just like to make it clear that I said I would only do it as a last resort and if I ran out of other options His reply? "I'll leave you"

Although there are situations like what you stated in the title, this is not one of them. The guy here is acting like he owns his partner and is actively being rude to people in that industry.
