King of queens. It's an older show but reruns are still on. In it, Doug's wife verbally and physically abuses Doug in almost every episode. Every time, It's played as "he deserved it." In one episode, he secretly goes to a support group for abused men. Of course it's played as a joke. He blames his over eating on her abuse, and because he over ate before they met, it's used to show that her abuse of him didn't really matter. Can you imagine the outrage if king of queens were gender reversed?

Lol the entire thing is super cringe. I don't necessarily think it's rape from the brief skim I did. (He telephoned her for a booty call.) The saddest thing is that the mental gymnastics she had to do to retcon this sad sad story of how undesirable she is into a win. I guess maybe that's the point.
