My wife and I exchanged personal vows that are not enforceable in court. I wanted 50/50 custody if we should split up. She wanted control of the finances.

My ex-wife became very ill and made the mistake of paying all our bills twice. This put us negative thousands of dollars in the bank. I had a conversation with her and let her know my opinion is to have me pay the bills until she gets better.

The next morning she left me and accused me of financial abuse taking our son 8 hours away, I assume to discourage me from seeking 50/50.

I think it's rare cases of people so controlling finances as to cause psychological and financial damage to the other party.
