I'm sitting here waiting for my car to be brought out by the parking lot valet, looking at a guy trying to staunch the flow of blood from his scalp with his t-shirt.

5 minutes earlier...

I just gave the valet my car ticket when I noticed a screaming match going on out on the sidewalk between what appears to be a male/female pair of street dwellers. The woman appeared to have said her piece and turned to walk away, the man reached out and slapped her across the back of the head.

As she began expressing a whole new set of outrage, another guy also waiting for his car went into full white knight mode, ran out and confronted the slapper. Started yelling in his face about "never hit a woman" and "I should kick your ass". This was the point where the woman broke a vodka bottle over his head.

so now police have been called, ambulance is on the way, T-shirt is ruined...all over a slap that probably didn't even sting. I keep thinking how this guy was not defending the woman in any way, he was out to punish the man for slapping her.

don't get involved in other people's drama, I think is the message here.
