It is preposterous on the face of it, does not deserve its sanctity, is contradicted by a mass of evidence, and is getting in the way of the only morally relevant goal surrounding rape, the effort to stamp it out.

While it is a good and interesting article that describes the scientific data on why heterosexual males rape young fertile women most often, it certainly does not answer the whole question of 'why do people rape'?

Women, typically while still young and attractive, seem to really enjoy raping, whether statutory or not, young boys anywhere between 17 years old and 4 years old. You've seen it all around here before. Teachers and babysitters usually. I don't think this is about power however, if it was, you'd see it whenever a female had significant power over a male. In that case scenario, I think it's about women, usually women who were once prom queens and known for their beauty but now slowly ageing, wanting to be sexually worshipped- and who would do that better than a young boy, likely a virgin? She wants the adulation of being the sexual goddess who "made him a man".

There is a similar feeling behind the woman who starts riding an unconscious or so-drunk-I-can-barely-move guy at a party. She firmly believes that men are always down for sex; she is granting him the favor by demonstrating her consent unasked.

I get it, maybe women are far less likely to rape in the way we typically think men do: holding a gun to their victims head and having at it. This doesn't mean that they don't rape. Because women are less likely to be able to overpower a man with her strength, she knows better than to go that route. Just like with murder, she'll wait until her victim is unaware and prone, as in when he's asleep or incapacitated.

A type of rape, at least I consider it to be so, that is far more perpetrated by women against men just by common acknowledgement is when women lie about birth control to deliberately become pregnant against their partner's wishes. I know women who have done this, you probably know women who have done this. And the reason they do it is because they care more about their desire to have more children than their husband's desire to not have more children (or of course the situation where he doesn't want to have children at all). We don't even consider this as a society to be a serious problem, even though the reverse would be considered horrific.

Women rape, we just don't often see it as such. And I'd bet the same is true for how we view animals.

Feminists are more than happy to oblige the idea that rape is purely sexual, this is what fuels the idea that all men or exclusively men are rapists.

Most of Susan Brownmiller's arguments aren't even affected by this. You could still reasonably argue that her assertion that all men keep all women oppressed by the threat of rape is actually even more true from the perspective that rape is about sex and tied to biology.

the braindead 'le progressives' propaganda only takes away from whatever point is trying to be made here. I also find it hilarious that the author's description of progressive and conservative view of crime is virtually the same thing, and the author even cites the great depression as a cause directly after scoffing at the idea that the economy can change behavior. Fucking idiot, it takes a lot to disprove yourself in a single paragraph but e' did it the mad lad.

Even if every feminist accepted the idea that rape is purely sex, it would change nothing about them.
