It's a powerful ideological unit that appears totally benign on the surface. It's been behaving as though one or more interest groups have been trying to take advantage of the power it wields in order to advance their own interests. In addition, those groups have been altering the purpose of the movement in ways that result in it being able to acquire more power.

Communications firms (including social media firms) are advertising firms. They are trying to get as many "impressions" as possible, so they end up amplifying awful opinions because they create traffic.

Because you use the term for pretty much anyone left of center.

For example, SJWs consistently get to shut down Conservative or "controversial" speakers at Colleges

No conventional conservative speakers do just fine although they tend not to bother since they prefer groups that lean center right.

They have been able to pressure YouTube into demonetizing pretty much anybody who is an anti-SJW

YouTube has been demonetizing a lot of people of late and it turns out that some people doing advitiser unfriendly things indentify as anti-SJW.

and pretty much anybody who SJWs want fired ends up getting fired.

No people who do things employers don't like end up getting fired. It just happens that some of those things employers don't like cross over with issues that groups you indentify as SJW care about.
