Why I'm considering leaving this subreddit

The problem is one of statistics. Since it's trivial to do so, one can assume that the number of reports and removals for things like 'hate speech' are being tracked and someday, someone writing an academic paper or doing a policy study will get at those statistics. When, not if, but when this happens, a great discrepancy in the number of 'anti-male' vs 'anti-female' hate groups and pages will not read as 'MRAs are much more mature about censorship than feminists'. It will read as 'Men hate women much more than women hate men' That most MRAs find the current rules of the victim game deplorable doesn't change the fact that those are the rules as they stand.

I suspect you harbor some notion that you or men in general have some sort of obligation to rise above, to 'be the bigger man'. While that is nicely aspirational, you win no points in the public mind by letting hateful rhetoric go unchallenged.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but there is one difference. In regards to the Facebook groups what most people (not all, but most that I've seen) aren't interested in actually getting these groups banned but instead are combating Facebook's selective approach to enforcing its own community guidelines regarding hate speech.

For example, let's say that in our society there was a hypothetical law that anyone who called another gender stupid would be fined $10. Many people were suddenly fined for calling women stupid because of this new law while the same law was not (in practice) applied to calling men stupid. One group of people sees this happening and begins reporting more people who call men stupid just to see if there is an effect. Their primary motive is to see if the law is actually fair even if they might disagree with it and they may not even think those women should be fined.

This is pretty much what seems to be going on in regards to Facebook. People here see that Facebook is deleting groups that are even slightly misogynistic while ignoring groups that are blatantly misandric. These groups are reported to see if Facebook actually has a double standard. I personally have not engaged in this behaviour because I'm not in favour of censorship but I still recognize that censorship is not the primary goal and most people seem to just be gathering evidence of a double standard in rules on Facebook.

I agree with you on this issue, for example. But ours' is not a common opinion, based on the amount of downvotes I got in the last "report facebook pages!" thread.

It sucks, but what are you gonna do? Stifle their own speech?

firstly, this sub is one of the most free speech driven subs there are.

B: the face book thing is not about mras censoring others, it is about double standards and blatant abuse of social media.

Threatening to leave a sub is the reddit equivalent of threatening your SO that you'll kill yourself if they do/don't do X. Generally considered to be manipulative, abusive behavior. If you were my buddy's gf I'd tell him to drop you like a bad habit. I'd advise the members of this sub to do the same with you. If you want to leave then leave. Don't be an attention seeking drama queen about it. Don't wrap a plea that the group consensus change in an empty threat to leave. It's not our job to convince you to stay. That's your job.

Also, I agree your views on censorship and believe you're missing the point entirely.
