I agree with the principal but I don't agree that reporting things like "Kill all men hail Satan" really counts as censorship in the way you are meaning.

But this trend is becoming a little bit worrying.

It's not that I am against reporting idiotic facebook pages, it's that they are spamming that bullshit here.

They should stop that.

This sounds too much like pacifism. "We shouldn't hit the person who hit us first because hitting is wrong!" may be a morally consistent argument, but it's a terrible way to live your life.

And no, we're not making it harder on ourselves. The people doing this aren't going to take it easy on us just because we refuse to fight back. That's just straight-up retarded. These people hate us because they are hateful people, not because we've given them reason to. Our behavior is irrelevant here.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Your argument will sway no one -- not one person reporting these pages will suddenly stop because of it. All it will do is create a rift without our movement between those who want to turn the other cheek, and those who want to play tit for tat. But it takes all kinds, and declaring that people who disagree with you need to 'stop' is really just a declaration that you think you're better than they are. You care more about attacking your own side than the enemy.

Men's rights advocates need to understand the popularity contest is not something you are going to win. You will be disliked for the same reason people don't like feminist.

Can we blame people for being fed up with the gender wars?

That said some male issues need to be addressed and we are the unpopular voice of a truth challenging an establishment dependent on a unjust status quo. Get used to being an outsider just like feminist who despite conquering the mainstream still act like their on the margins. We will be hated, vilified, and even persecuted by people trying to cover their ass but keep at it. Terms like misandry weren't even in the google spell check a year ago.

Things are changing but don't expect any recognition or respect from the mainstream. Knowledge is power and we if even a small percentage of people know the truth we can kick start critical thought on these issues. Educating people on how to rebut dishonest rhetoric with something at least resembling the truth is more than worth the effort.

I agree with you but maybe not for the reason you have in mind. I think men gravitate towards libertarianism and we believe in moving society towards more freedom. Censorship runs counter to that idea. In my mind, I don't have any problem with what feminism accomplished, up until the 70s it was fairly reasonable. I fight for men's rights because I want men to be as free as women, so while the current wave of feminists fight for female superiority we just want to remove the vestiges of the old system which discriminates towards men.

If we present ourselves this way, and welcome debate, I think that puts us on the moral high ground and that is how we win.

On one hand, the hypocrisy of facebook in what they will and won't censor is interesting.

On the other hand, I prefer that the hateful speech remains as an example.

While I agree with you OP, I don't mind. I actually hope facebook doesn't delete the pages reported so they show their double standards loudly and clearly.

The major reason for reporting these pages is to show the blatant inequality on facebook.
