Sincerely? Studies demonstrate that the chance of successful long-term relationship with a women with more than two sexual partners in her lifetime is very low. Not impossible, but unlikely, and the more sexual partners she has, the unlikelier it gets (tops somewhere around 14 partners, if my memory serves).

Women call other women sluts to reduce their value in the eyes of prospective mates. Bad mates (that is, guys that only want flings or one time stands) are encouraged by slutty behavior, but good mates (guys that want long time relationships - a.k.a. marriage) have aversion to it.

So, yes, that's why it is bad. If you are recognized as a slut, guys will only go after you for easy sex. If you don't plan to marry, that's your call, but if you do, you're behind the curve already.

In a nutshell calling a woman a slut says that she is unworthy of long term commitment or investment by any male who wants his own genes to be propagated.

Obviously for women or men that don't care about this, the word slut lacks any sting

While I don't really have anything against people sleeping around, I do have a problem with the way many women who sleep around still expect special treatment with regards to sex. For example with someone who is more promiscuous I will expect them to put in more of the work in the relationship, because shyness regarding sex or men causing the reluctance is no longer an excuse for making the guy do all the work.

I also have a problem with women who act like they are all cool with sex and then expect harsh standards regarding sexual conduct, ie sexual harassment at work. I have seen women talk 'slutty' a lot, and yet accuse guys of harassment without even acknowledging that given their behaviour it can be difficult to tell what proper behaviour around them is. I think if you have a lot of sexual experience you should be able to make it clear to someone that there attentions are unwelcome and give them a chance to stop the behaviour before pursuing legal avenues.

Finally, I think sleeping around can make it easy for women to ignore problems they have. You can get men to pay attention to you, say nice things about you, and support you be sleeping with them, and this causes some promiscuous women to be able to act quite badly without suffering the consequences, realizing it, or attempting to improve as a person.

It is not bad at all from a Dad's perspective. It is simply a more concise way of identifying someone (male or female) as a "disease vector". Maybe a more adult word for "cooties".

It's good and bad. When I was just fucking chicks left and right I loved meeting a slut. Thanks to Feminism sluts will blow you without even knowing your name and think nothing of it. But when I started looking for something serious I'd avoid sluts like the plague. The fact is that the more promiscuous a woman is the more likely she is to cheat on you. Furthermore the more sexual partners a woman has had before you, the more jaded she will be and the less patience she will have for turbulence within a relationship. Thankfully there are still tons of women who aren't sluts.

And as much as Feminists will scream about slut shaming and misogyny, men have the fundamental right to choose our sexual partners based on any criteria. If we don't want to date or marry sluts, that is our undeniable prerogative. Suck it, Feminism.

Slut shaming is not based on people trying to control your sexuality, it is based on three things- increased disease risk with promiscuity, increased risk of promiscuity, and the increased risk of danger for those who have sex with people.

A lot of promiscuous people have sex while drunk or high. People often go to bars or clubs, get drunk, and have sex. This carries several risks.

You mention rape culture and stuff. If you're drunk it's easier to be raped since you're less likely to be able to resist or say no. It's easier for rapists to rape as their moral inhibitions drop. It's not as simple as telling rapists not to rape. They are often quite screwed up individuals who were beaten or raped as a child and don't respond well to instruction.
If you're drunk appropriate condom usage is more difficult. STDs are easier to acquire when drunk.
You're more likely to be a thrill seeker if you drink a lot and take drugs, so in a marriage you might have trouble thrill seeking and cheat on your hubbie.

If you talk about how empowered you are the people who are calling you a slut will just think "Yeah, bet she has lots of stds and no man will want her because she'll cheat."

I sense that you want to feel morally superior to certain people.

If you want to feel morally superior you need to demonstrate to them that you have self control and get something they can't from not being promiscuous like good sex.

e.g. "I have had many fun sober sexual encounters, and great relationships which evolved out of them. The sex is a choice, and I happily stop doing it when I am in happy relationships with awesome guys who I know can fulfill my sexual needs. How's your sex life going?"

Since most people have gripes about their sex life this will make them feel insecure and confused. The parallel to slut in men is creep, as men who don't have sex are seen as creepy virgins, and they can be made to feel super insecure.

Let's see your news... someone in a bar, not victim blamed.

Someone went to a concert, made out with a guy, didn't want to have sex, got raped, got blamed.

Someone went to a bar, probably got drunk, took a girl home, and raped her. Victim blamed by judge.

Haley dated two guys who fought, people suggested she instigated the fight.

Someone walked home from a bar and vanished, people suggested it was because she walked home from a dark bar.

A druggie alcoholic mentally ill footballer argued with his girlfriend and killed her then himself, people blamed her for arguing with a mentally ill person.

While it is unfortunate that people blame the victims, it reinforces my point on why people think calling a slut is bad- they will drink alcohol and bad things often happen when you drink alcohol.

Having a slut for a wife or girlfriend means she's disloyal. How good is a mother going to be for her children if she's a slut? Not the best of examples. What kind of parent would brag about their daughter being a slut, or they taught her how to be a slut?

With each man a woman has sex with her chances of forming a long term relationship drop.

1 = 95%, 2 = 57%, 3 = 54% and so on.

There is no upside for a woman to be a slut, only a downside. First time divorce is growing, right now at 51%, second time is 73%. The erroneous claim that modern women are more financially independent being the reason flies in the face of facts. A wealthy woman and a poor woman both have the same 95% chance of forming a successful relationship if the stay with the first man they had sex with.

Not only have divorce rates skyrocketed due to the promotion of women engaging in slut behavior, marriage rates have plummeted. Does anyone ever remember seeing an article or being taught in school telling women that their husband is the most important thing in their life? To love and honor him. To be loyal to one man for life?

You can deny reality, but you can't deny the consequences of denying reality.

I see it as a good thing, I wouldn't call just anyone a slut, they have to earn it.
