“Most face some combination of stressful legal battles, false accusations, crippling child support payments; financial ruin and most importantly, the loss of their children.”

Imagine that. A cruel system that is hugely leveraged against men, who despite best efforts, find themselves in impossible situations with unreasonable people.

A friend of mine is going through this exact thing. His ex wife (married at the time) had a drug problem, so he sent her to rehab. In order to help her, he sent their kids down to stay with her parents (which lived like 30min away from the rehab center) so she could see the kids regularly. He did this despite my warnings that he shouldn't let his kids establish a life down there, as he enrolled them in school and their residence was changed to the grandparents house. After she got out of rehab and the divorce went through, he went to take his kids back. But the grandparents of course said no, and filed with the courts, with the mother's support. Since they had established a life down there (school, friends, sports and other extra circular activities) the courts sided with the grandparents. Note that the mother was ruled unfit, so she didn't have custody either. It went to the grandparents. They have money, were very friendly with the family court judge that was assigned the case. And they filed every possible thing they could against my friend. He was living with his then gf (now wife) at the time, and of course they said this is not a safe environment as he's living with a woman and is not married. There were claims of abuse (he never ever abused his kids, one of the best fathers I've met). Just all sorts of mess. He spent over 100k trying to get his kids back, and to no avail. He finally just gave up and stuck to every other weekend visits (the grandparents were able to keep him from even getting visitation at his own house, after he got married to the gf they claimed that her son was a risk for the girls, even though her son is a very nice young man). Just a shitshow. He did not commit suicide, but I know it had such a negative affect on his mental health. I did what I could to be there for him, but in this situation, only thing that can fix it is getting your kids back.

A lot of fluff to this article I don't care for. Here are some statistics from the linked research and reading Australia's 2022-2023 budget.

Queensland Mental Health Commision 2020 Report.

Of the life events captured, males dying by suicide were more likely than females to experience relationship separation (29.3% vs 20.3%) but not conflict (15.1% vs 15.9%); pending legal matters (13.2% vs 6.6%), financial problems (20.0% vs 13.1%), recent or pending unemployment (14.5% vs 7.0%), and child custody disputes (6.0% vs 4.6%).

Females dying by suicide were more likely than males to have experienced spousal bereavement (4.8% vs 2.3%), family (17.1% vs 9.3%) or interpersonal (5.8% vs 4.2%) conflict, childhood trauma (7.6% vs 3.4%), sexual abuse (6.4% vs 1.7%) and work or school problems that were not financial (10.0% vs 8.5%).

Over half (51.5%) of all people who died by suicide between 2014 and 2016 reportedly had one or more diagnosed mental health conditions. Depression was the most common, followed by anxiety and substance use conditions. A quarter (25.3%) of all people had seen a mental health professional in the last three months for a mental health condition.

Australia's 2022-2023 budget is granting $547 million over 5 years to improve mental health. Which is a fraction spent on budget specifically for women with a mix of children.

Women/children have their own budget totaling $2.1 billion.

  • $1.3 billion for The National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032. Likely to receive a lot more over the years.
  • $482 million for enhancing PPL, getting women into higher paid jobs and for diversity hiring in leadership positions.
  • $330 million for breast cancer drugs subsidies and treatment for endometriosis

As far as I see there is no budget for men specifically. Ending violence I can understand if that is a prominent issue and PPL is great but diversity hiring and medical treatment is sexist.

Mental health needs more funding in Australia.

Oh heavens,

People, you are not alone. Despite fewer the people in this forsaken world with humanity and compassion in them would empathize you.

And I can't believe that more resources are pushed into preventing female suicide. This is insane nightmare. I don't want innocent struggling men to commit suicide.

If their wives, girlfriends and family were supportive and loving, they wouldn't kill themselves. They should teach girls to be kind, supportive and moralistic. Traits their romantic partners love. So their buddies should be kind, some men kill themselves because of friends, which is as brutal nightmare.

A song about suicide prevention. Greeting all of you and those with suicide issues.

"Remember the lavish 2016 ABC television program, Man Up, which spent three episodes claiming we need to teach suicidal men to show their feelings. Hours of television about men having to learn to cry, but not a word about what they were crying about."

That is such a powerful message and resonates with my life experiences.

Because they want to, i don't need to read an article to know that.

A mans relationship with death is his own business.

It's better to kill yourself on your own terms than live under someone else's.

Economic cattle bleating about men's refusal to become economic cattle is really just them worrying about their depleting resources.

A slaves lament
