Though this idea might have its scoffers, I think it is important to address that just as there is a tendency for certain men to sometimes objectify women, there is also a tendency for certain women to sometimes objectify men. However, the objectification seems to come in a different form.

While men who objectify women usually see the woman as an object of beauty and neglect the personality, women who objectify men usually see the man as an object of success and neglect the personality. Sometimes, external factors like a man's money, status and material conditions are seen as determining a man's worth similar to how sometimes the external factor of beauty is seen as determining the worth of a woman. This is not me saying that looks are not important to women judging a man's worth. I think both genders are fairly visual creatures that tend to value what look to be physical signs of health. But I do think there is an extra pressure placed on the male gender to build this big impressive career or at least be "doing life properly enough" to warrant positive attention.

And women are not the only ones who do this. Society in general seems to treat those men who are not a "successful man" as failures not worth any attention. This pressure to be an object of success can really wreck a man's mental health if they feel they can't do this well enough. This can lead to feeling of deep sorrow and anger if it is not addressed. If there is no support for these men who feel they have no value since society sees them as a failure, they tend to get rather cynical and sink down towards toxic ideologies. Ideologies where they don't feel like a failure.

I think we should be able to address this issue of men's worth being soley based on material wealth, ignoring internal character qualities, just as what some are trying to do with the treatment of women.
