I hate the term "alpha," because the term has been absolutely memeified and diluted. I prefer to use "confident" or "masculine" instead. With that being said, I think there are HUGE discrepancies between the caricaturized version of "alpha" and what it really should be. Real "alpha" traits include:

Stoic
Outgoing
Physically fit
Secure
Self-supportive
Confident but not overbearing

Straight up douchebags and wannabe "alphas" are often:

Loud
Overly aggressive
Insecure (and often project their insecurities)
Immature

I think the main difference between the two though is whether or not you're truly comfortable in your shoes.
