I think it doesn't matter if it is socially constructed or not. RP adopts to the current state not the ideal wishful thinking of how it should be. And it probably is a social construct based on biology. Biology gives you the parameters for what will happen and favors one state more than all other states and that state happens over and over again until you work against it with force. Like entropy. Men are disposable, a social construct was build around that and this is the SMP.

A market presupposes a society. You can't have a marketplace without people.

Biology of course influences things in the same way that objective factors (like the ease of resource extraction) influence the 'normal' economy. But the ultimate (economic) value of something is still subjective, i.e. something which subjects ascribe to the good rather than something inherent inside the good.

Women's sexuality is not seen as "special and pure", a lack of it is. Women being sexual and enjoying sex on the same level as men is actively shamed.

mens sexuality is seen as damaging.

Based on how people react to "sluts" vs "studs", I definitely don't think it's men's sexuality that's seen as damaging.

I think you need to differentiate between attractive and unattractive people a bit more. Sex isn't a commodity because sex with a dime piece is much much more valued and desired than sex with a dumpy 5. The problem is that the attractiveness distribution for men (as perceived by women) is all fucked up. Men judge women on a pretty normal bell curve centered at "average". However, women judge MOST men as below average.

I think this is a major part of the sexual market's inequality. Hot guys have the SMV of a hot girl - they can go out and get laid with pretty minimal effort. So basically, at an average bar, you have a hoard of guys who are considered unattractive (80%) fighting for maybe 50% of the girls there. You also have a handful of guys who are actually considered sex-worthy by the girls. So those handful of guys might be even more over valued than women because women are so fucking picky (or men have just ended up as a generally unattractive bunch because we weren't historically selected by beauty the way women were). This isn't some kind of artificial inflation. It's supply and demand. Go out and fuck some hideous fat chick. It would probably be as easy as any relatively attractive (read: 50th percentile and up) girl going out and trying to fuck one of the 80% of guys who aren't considered attractive.

TL;DR:

Women view the MAJORITY of men as below average/unattractive
Men view roughly half the women out there as attractive
This skews supply and demand, so the supply of worthwhile women is MUCH greater than the supply of sex worthy men
Add into this that guys have a higher demand for sex in general and will go out and fuck someone who "isn't too bad" just to fuck someone. This is generally far less true for women.
Now apply the basic economics of supply and demand and you see where the disparity in value comes from.

The current dynamic in the SMP and RMP is complete driven by economics.

The SMP is always driven by economics. MP = market place = market = economy.

Women are incentivized to remain chaste and to be very selective with their mates.

Are they really in this day and age? Besides ‘slut shaming’ (which is perpetuated by women more than men, and has little repercussions anyways), what societal incentives are there to remain chaste and selective?

Men receive no incentivizing in either direction as it pertains to mating.

I would argue that current societal trends incentivize men against getting married and having children. This is primarily due to divorce and child custody laws as they exist today (you know, real institutuionlized discrimination that is backed up under the threat of force from the state.)

Womens sexuality is seen as special and pure mens sexuality is seen as damaging. Currently in het relationship dynamics women have the supply because they hold a monopoly over a commodity (in the economic sense of the word) Womens sexually value in the market in 2015 is vastly over inflated relative to its actual worth (which is about the same s mens).

Here is what is fundamental, biological, and 100% not a product of socialization. Women take a minimum of 9-10 months to fulfill their reproductive roles. Men take a maximum of about an hour. Women are the rate limiting sex when it comes to reproduction.

If 90% of the female population were to die in a war, it would take generations to replenish the population. If 90% of the male population were to die in a war, they can be more or less replaced in one or two. Thus, wombs are literally more valuable than sperm, because the supply is intrinsically smaller. Supply and demand! This is Economics 101!

This plays out in the SMP. The average woman is exponentially more sexually valued than the average man. As a result, it is way easier for a woman to find a suitable mate than it is for a man of roughly equal attractiveness to said woman. As it is said, there are plenty of fat, poor, obnoxious, and otherwise disgusting slutty girls, but there are almost ZERO of fat, poor, obnoxious, and otherwise disgusting slutty guys (by slutty, I mean ‘has a high sexual partner count relative to their demographic’).

Of course it's socially constructed. By people. Who have one of two genders that, in general, are driven by and operate under different constraints and psychologies.

It's like saying "the modern supermarket is socially constructed, and not based on essential nutrition in the modern day."

True, in the sense that we have a greater variety, and more and more food fads and specialized food, and not just flour, sugar, milk, butter eggs, meat, and fresh fruits and veggies of the general store of yesteryear. False, in the sense that the basic reason for the existence of a supermarket is a logical outgrowth of the need to supply the biological needs of a populace.

To produce offspring: Women have always held a monopoly on sex and always will*. Sex from a female with a SMV of 5 is far more valuable commodity than sex from a male with a SMV of 5, the two won't ever be even. Men do not have a year or more (nursing etc) cooling down period, they do not have a soft cut off point naturally for reproducing and they do not carry the risk. It is not inflated value, it is naturally much higher value than a mans sex as a man brings different things to the table. Naturally many males would be left either without it completely or raising other males offspring. I don't think much has changed in that regard.

Sex without a view to producing offsping is hardly even a commodity and is pretty low on value. While the value is still relative to the SMV of the female, average is the price of a few nice meals. or a few hours, not traded for anything particularly valuable. They still hold the commodity but there is still, and will always be a difference in supply and demand. Women still do not need or want it as much because of their wiring, SMP is social construct but should take this into consideration.

I disagree, the SMP will always have that lopsided dynamic because men want it more than women and women can afford to tie it to conditions (f.ex. you have to commit to her, you have to be hotter than she is etc.). Even if you remove all social checks and balances (like slut-shaming) women won't suddenly start putting out to a rate similar to that of men, those who are willing to sleep around just switch their priorities from commitment-oriented to hotness-oriented.
